New York deer hunting

My wife bought one of those for me last year and as soon as a deer crosses my path, I'm going to use it.

How far out were you when you shot this guy?

I absolutely love this muzzleloader (and I have 3 other TC's)......IIRC the buck last year was a 75 yd shot and the doe was 50 yds......I have it sighted in with a 2 inch group @ 100 yds.....so these deer were easy shots....

This gun was new last year and I've only fired it twice at deer.....No wasted shots taken.....

16883 - .50 Caliber Sabot 250-Grain Shock Wave Spire Point Polymer Tip Bullet 30-Pack .... with 3 triple seven pellets...I use round balls in the old style hawkins guns (side hammer)

things starting to heat up:my son just shot a nice seven point(137lbs),his wife shot a six(137lbs),I shot a eight(181lbs.)All November bucks,rut is coming on strong in St. Lawrence co.:thumbsup:

How many deer can a person take (gun & bow)......assuming they are as good as you guys....:licking:

In NY....one buck with rifle...one deer(either or) with archery/muzzle-loader and one doe(if you have a DMP permit),I get a landowner's DMP every year just encase one of my girls or grans want to shoot one.
I like the TC products also..my go to gun is a TC Encore in 25/06 and I also have a TC Encore .50 muzzle-loader;topped with Leupold scopes.
My muzzle-loader load is two triple seven pellets and 250 gr.Hornady soft load sabot.

TC Encore stuff is definetly first-class......Probably should've done it when I got this latest one.....:confused2:

I was thinking of trying a TC single-shot pistol (410) with the rabbit dogs but I'm not that great with a pistol....trouble with the wrist/grip (carpal tunnel stuff..)

You can't beat those Hornady bullets.
I like the 265 gr JHP (XTP) in my Knight T-bolt. I use 85 grains of Hogdon triple 7.

I found when using 2 pellets of the triple sevens a drop of about 8 inches and groups openned up.......with 3 pellets the groups tightened

I'm used to using black powder in my older guns so this pellet stuff is new to me.....:confused2:
