I don't know how to put pictures up. My son helps me with it and he is not around much anymore due to his work. He works for the railroad and travels way to much for my taste, anyway, I installed a HOT DAWG 125K BTU heater made by Modine in my shop on Wednesday and wanted to report how happy and surprized I am with the HOT DAWG heater. The building is a metal pole barn construction with spray foam insultation on the all of the walls and cealing. The building is 40 X 58 X 10 with a 24 X 40 X 16 addition , the building has a total of 4 overhead insulated door and one man door. This little unit heats the whole place up from around 25 degrees to 65 degree in roughly 20 minutes. It's propanes fired, clean and quiet. Anyone thinking of heating their building this winter would not be diappointed in the HOT DAWG heaters by Modine.....The spray foam insulation works much better than I ever anticipated. Hope this helps someone in the future who is considering going the route as I did. I had to wait 25 years to get heat in due to lack of capital funding, but man it sure makes it sweet now that the long wait is over and the heater is in ........

I second your recommendation. I installed a gas fired Modine Hot Dawg in my garage in 2009. It makes a wonderful heated space in a short period of time.

Have fun working!

I have a 125,000 BTU Modine propane heater in my shop. But my shop is not insulated. I keep wanting to do it, but then i open the door and look at all the stuff id have to move out.
Then i close the door and go play with the dogs.
mine will heat my shop up in 10 minutes...but i cant let it just run due to the lack of insulation. so i just heat it up and shut it down. Better than a 10F shop i guess.

Some day ill insulate the place i guess.

I had the same problem. So I spent one winter moving a few pieces away from the wall and insulating that section. Moved stuff back and repeat. The good news is that I could start to tell a difference right away, so it was encouragement to continue.

Did the same with the wall coverings. It is amazing how much more comfortable the garage stays even without the heater going.

I did have someone come in and do the ceiling, but I feel pretty good about what I accomplished.

How's the fuel burn - does it go thru propane quickly?

im sure it would, but i just use it to heat up the shop, then turn it off. It only on 20-30 minutes at most.
