3-Point Hitch 3-pt hitch question...

Guys,
My neighbor has a 65hp 2wd tractor and he offered to let me borrow a couple attachments as needed.

Anyway my questionis will they fit?

My DK50se has a Cat 1 hitch (what does that mean?)

Just eyeballing it, the pins on his boxblade looked very large (Is that Cat 2?)

Just looking to be less ignorant & figure out if I can even use it...

IF your stuff is a cat I, and his is a cat II, your stuff will work, BUT....you need the bushings to slip over YOUR pins on the implements, so they fit snug in the cat II lower arms of his tractor.

Here is the standard"
............................Lower pins...........TL pin...............spacing
CAT I.........................7/8"..................3/4".................26"
Cat II.........................1-1/8"...............1"....................32"

The cat II's are spaced farther appart, but typically, the arms will come close enough to hook up cat 1 implements.

TSC sells the bushings that are 7/8" ID and 1-1/8" OD to co on your lower pins.

The TL is where it gets iffy. Because some Cat II tractors still use cat I TL pins:confused2: The JD2040 of the 1980's that dad had is one prime example. Cat II lowers and Cat I uppers.

What you really need to do is go over there and measure everything just to be sure.

But I must ask, if you have a heavy 50HP 4x4, why are you wanting to borrow a 65HP 2wd????

@LD1: I think the neighbor is lending attachments, not the tractor, so, no, they won't fit the cat 1 tractor. Unless you want to remove the pins and replace them with smaller ones. Or buy a set of cat 2 link arms. .

Correct you are. I mis-read the question:confused2:

If it is indeed a cat II attacment, you can just swap pins:thumbsup: and then out his back on when done.

IF your lift arms wont open wide enough to hook up, you can one or both pins facing inward.

And for limited use, I wouldnt worry about the TL hole being too big. Just use your 3/4" pin and be done.

The other posts cover the pin size issue. Of course you also need to think about weight and necessary pto horsepower, if it's a powered implement, since Cat II implements are sized for use with larger tractors. The box blade might be too much implement for your tractor, for example, even if you did get it hooked up.

I am just going to guess that his HEAVY DK50 4wd will pull any of those implements equally as good as the 65HP 2wd. The only problem I can forsee is if his neighbor is using something PTO driven that is already maxing out his 65HP. Like a huge bushhog in the 8-9ft range.

You are 100% correct. this is just a simple (cheap red) 6' boxblade and it is in pretty sad shape due to his using it to pull small stumps.

My new bushhog is bigger than his also...

His tractor is not bigger than mine much (if at all). He went 65HP to pull a baler, but he never got the baler or the hay crop...
