Ignition Shut Off

   / Ignition Shut Off #11
Thad, like others have mentioned, my TU150FD shuts down when the key is turned to the off position.

My suspicion is that it cuts power to the 'fuel solenoid' (I'm guessing). Prior to replacing the ignition switch I used to hear a click on the right side of the engine when it didn't start. As a matter of fact I had to wait for the reset (click) before attempting another start.

Good luck!

Thanks for confirming the "fuel solenoid" theory. I'd been told by a local farmer to "forgit all that dung about the 'nition switch & use the keal button". Problem is there ain't one of 'dem needer!! Sooooo, I used a little creative engineering, mounted a "momentary contact" switch, hooked a hot wire to it and ran it to this "fuel solenoid". Now, when I shut the ignition off, it does still keep running until I press my new "kill switch" button. Shuts off instantly!! And, yes, you can hear the solenoid plunger "thunking" in. Best part is, it actually does act as a real kill switch because if you press it even while running, it kills the engine, tout suite!! Thank you one & all for the input. Problem solved!
