Front tires for L4200

I bought a used L4200 w/FEL,the front tires need replaced,but,it looks like it has skid steer type tires on it now...whats the best replacement?Thanks

Sounds like they are R4 tires. Is it a 4WD tractor? And, are the tires on the rear the same type? If so you should match the front tires to the rear or you may damage the drive system.

I don't know about the "best", but I just replaced the front tires on my 5030 with Titan 8 ply tires. We have used several brands Goodyear, Mischeln, Firestone, Titan and really couldn't tell any difference in any of them.

The short and simple version is that the drive system is a single system and must be mated so that the tires turn at the same rate. Different tires that are not matched could prevent this hence drive system damage. There are a lot of threads that have addressed this in depth, you can use the search feature to find them.

I don't know that you'd actually damage anything with slight mis-sizing, BUT from a design and/or performance standpoint, the tire size must be correct relative to the rear, such that the front wheels overdrive the rear by 2-5%.

Required front/rear tire sizing for the different types of tire are in the owner's manual. Awesome tractor, BTW.
