Never 'really' carried and recently received my CCP. My home guns are a little large to be stuffing down my pants regardless of the available room so I've been shopping.

And for some weird reason, for a gun in my front pants pocket, I want a revolver.

I'm leaning towards this one.

Ruger LCR Double-Action Revolver Model 5405

I looked at that one, a tarus, and the s&w 637 airweight. I ended up going with the smith, and I really like it. It weights about as much as a smart phone, and it is much more acurate than the the polymer frame 380s I have tried.

That's what I would call a pocket gun for sure, I'd say it's a good choice. Safe enough, and holds a few rounds. 38+p is about the most you can expect in a tiny gun like that.
357 would be too much, I suspect.
I don't have much experience with "pocket guns".

My wife and I each have Ruger LCRs. Very light and comfortable to carry, plus, it shoots surprisingly well for a snubbie. The combination of the polymer fire control housing and the Hogue grips make even +P loads very manageable. I tried the S&W 637 Airweight also, but liked the trigger on the Ruger a little more.

If you're interested in holsters, I recommend Side Guard Holsters, LLC in Minneapolis, MN. This is what I'm wearing: Side Guard Holsters - OWB Holsters - High Slide

Let us know what you decide on.

I bought every member in my family a Ruger LC9. The girls bought purses with a center pocket that clasps with a magnet. I only wear cargo pants and use a soft holster to break up the impression. I feel the improved ballistics of the 9mm over the 380 justifies the small increase in size over the LCP.

Get a good pocket holster. Don't just put the bare gun in your pocket. A good holster will shield the trigger and make an accidental discharge less likely. It will also keep the gun in the same relative position so that, should you need to draw, the gun position and orientation will be established. A good pocket holster will have some nonskid material on the outside that will hold the holster in your pocket and let you draw the gun cleanly while the holster remains in the pocket. It also may keep some pocket lint from accumulating around critical moving parts and will prevent "printing" so that your pocket bulge will look more like a cell phone or wallet than a gun.

I like your gun choice!

Went with a Sig Sauer P-238 myself, With the 7 shot clip.

I was looking at the same gun. I went to a gun show to look for one as I had a 380 I wanted to trade. I ended up getting a S&W bodyguard. It is very similar to the Ruger LCR but it also comes with a laser. I really like it. It is suprizingly accurate with the laser and not bad without it. I carry it in an old athletic sock in my pocket. The sock breaks up the outline of the gun and I can shoot it in an emergency without taking it out of the sock. I have a small truck and I also carry it in the side compartment of my rear drivers side door. I can reach back between the seat and door and the sock is very easy to get ahold of.

I just can't warm up to 'toy' guns though I know the LC's are popular b ecause of price and size.

I normally carry my Kimber full size Crimson Carry in the winter under a jacket and in th summer, a Bond 45-410 derringer in my breast pocket of my jacket.

The 45 Long Colt -410 shotshell mught ony be 2 shots but it's 2 FATAL shots if the need arises and the Kimber in 45 auto with 9 rounds is a sure crowd pleaser...

Those toy poppers are for dumb blondes....

Real men carry real guns, not plastic wannabee's.:)
