Well, it's official... I've just received notice from Mother Deere that the "nightmare" I experienced with the Park bracket on my new 5075M was not my fault!

Or even the fault of the shipper's - trucking and barge! (I woulda sworn they "DID IT"!)

Nope, the Park indicator position bracket "may be misaligned" and I should be aware that it might be a "safety concern" if the tractor should roll into the side of the barn when parked.

Yep... it was a "safety concern" alright -- it was a downright -- PITA!

Of course, now that I've paid out of pocket to have the tractor fixed; Deere says it won't cost me anything...

Any idea if they'll actually reimburse me for trucking mileage and repair costs... I'm not really gonna hold my breath on this!

Time will tell.

Shoulda posted this on the Owner/Operating forum; I guess.

Sure would be a shame of they didn't. I know I'd be mad of I'd only waited a little longer I would've gotten it free!

Good luck!

Guess I lucked out. Mine has been an absolute breeze to put in park coupled with quick crisp shifts: I love the transmission!

It appears that you have already asked for reimbursement costs. Was it through the dealer or Corporate? Since you live in Alaska, I assume that it is probably some distance to your nearest John Deere dealer. If I were in your position, I would continue seeking payment, both for the repair and also the travel costs incurred. I would use diplomacy, but I wouldn't ever give up. Good Luck.:tractor:

I haven't contacted anyone regarding this latest notice from Deere. I'll discuss the situation with the local guys first, of course; and go from there.

Aside from the park issue - the bracket alignment wouldn't allow the shifter to engage park - the transmission has been problem free and easy to operate.

I'm sure that all the new (within the past 11 months) owner's of the 5000M series will be receiving a letter regarding the park bracket. Some; will no doubt have never experienced any problem - other's; will likely have already tackled the issue.
