My main concern was if the 18.4R-34 would clear the rear fenders, but that does not appear to be an issue.

The closest point is about two to three inches right at the step. Under the fender there's lots of clearance.

The main reason was being able to see better. I wanted self levelling but the JD SL bars restrict visibility somewhat. Other reasons were:

Capacity to full height 4100 lbs @ ? center (forget the spec.) I think this is close to the 563.

Reach at trailer height; I can usually pick everything from one side.

Max. lift height quite a bit higher than the 563SL.

Tucked in a little closer for maneuverability when lowered.

Price was almost the same as the 563SL.

Factory is about an hour from my house.

Getting the Frey was the hardest decision I had to make when I bought the tractor, but no regrets. The 563SL is an awesome loader as well and the new H series I believe, are better again.

Oh, didn't even think about the H series not being available. The Frey was clearly the better choice when you bought though:thumbsup:

Thanks. They look great from the picture! The rolling circumference ratio does change from 0.754 to 0.764 front to rear, but thats only 1%, so should be fine. My main concern was if the 18.4R-34 would clear the rear fenders, but that does not appear to be an issue.

So here's my config. I'm going to ask for 16% off list and swapping of the tires for free. If I can get out the door for $65k, minus trading in my 4700, I'm probably doing pretty good.

Congrats on taking the big plunge!

A few added considerations... possibly.

Reverser modulator. Front weight bracket. Mirrors (I'm gonna get 'em - better late than never). Rear wiper. Optional light package. Fuel tank shields. Filled rear tires.

(Probably forgot something or other - but, this might give you something to think about.)

Best of luck.

Appreciate the suggestions. Rear wiper is actually included with the deluxe cab.

I did go ahead and add the reverser modulator. My 4700 has PowrReverser, but I end up using the clutch pedal as well most of the time, especially when doing loader work. So hopefully the modulator will allow me to fine tune the timing to what I'm doing.

Also added aux work lights and front weight support along with a Electrohydraulic right fender kit to go with my left side one.

I don't see an option for fuel tank shields, maybe they are built in on the MY2012 models?

And I definitely plan to get the rears filled. Will have to think about the mirrors. I figured once I get in some seat time, I'll decide if I need them. I'm just afraid they might get knocked off or damaged.

I also changed my mind on the loader and will step up to the H310 model. It actually cost a little less than the H260 due to a $1995 credit for not ordering the mounting frame, and has a full height lift capacity of 4022 vs. 3221 lbs. I'll be able to move junk cars around with this loader. :)

I also decided to go with the MSL model due to the even higher lift capacity it offers. I don't like that extra set of rods, but I think the convenience factor when using pallet forks, and the extra lift capacity, and that they use new false rod bucket cylinders that are significantly faster, makes it worth it I think. The specs for the new H series loaders are in the 6030/7030 series brochure. Here's that page from the brochure:

I had the same reservations about the mirrors... trees, tree branches, etc. But, after a summer and fall of using the tractor to rake, tedd, bale and plow snow --- I'm ready for the mirrors!

(The in-the-cab mirror is a joke!)

You cant see anything with the in-cab mirror.. You just see a pretty face in it.

Hello everyone,

I am just at the point of signing the papers on my purchase.

Here is what I am getting:

New 2011 model 5085M with the options listed below. The prices are just list. The question I have is do you think that I am missing anything important? I like the 2011 year better because of the shorter wheelbase, for maneuverability. The full syncro trans on the 2012 would be nice, but I think I can live without it for the extra nimbleness.

A few minor differences from what it would be if I had ordered it from the factory, instead of purchasing one already built. This is not the top deluxe cab, but instead the one below it, with the addition of an air suspension seat. Also, it has the EH hitch control, but not the fender buttons.

I have to admit that I do not know a lot about all of the loader options out there, Quicke, Frey, Westendore.........

I am getting the H260, but I see that pclauson has opted for the H310. From the specs, the H260 should lift what I need it to (supposedly it is the improved replacement of the 563). I think my concern is more about how compact it is compared to other options. It may be that all of these loaders are about the same with regard to how tight they are to the tractors nose when in the travel position. By the way, I am getting it setup to take all of my SS attachments and bucket.

I think the only major thing things that I don't currently have on my order are the fenders and exterior mirrors.

As before, any thoughts you have for me would be greatly appreciated.

i would add the cast rear wheels and 2 rear wheel weights per side.do you really need 3 rear valves?

Cowski,

No, I don't need the three rear valves, but this tractor is already built, so they are already there.

With regard to the cast wheels and wheel weights, I was under the impression that if I put in maximum quantity of RimGuard, I should be in good shape for rear ballast. I suppose that it might be possible for me to trade the standard wheels for the cast, but there would be an up-charge. I know from all of the previous discussion on this thread that it might be better to get wider tires, but again it would be more money. At least I am getting the radials and the fronts are not the standard narrow 11.2-24 bias, but instead the 12.4-R24. One other issue about wider tires is that, at a certain point the tractor would be wider than I'd like for some of the tasks that I have for it.

Thanks for the reply.

Doesn't sound to bad to me. Minus the cab would be about what I paid for my 5410 about 10 years ago now. Really wanted to get the cab but I didn't go for it - wish I had looking back. As for the remotes I've never heard anyone complaining that they have to many! Have you decided to sell the 2355 privately or is the dealer hooking you up with a good price?

Congrats by the way:thumbsup:
