I was looking at a old thread and poem I wrote about TBN a few years ago. I started laughing and decided to post it again.
A TBN Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land,
TBNers were replying to just one last thread;
Their old tractor keys were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that ST. Nick would leave a new one there,
Then TBNers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Pole Barns danced in their heads;
We have Rox and her olives, Roy Jackson and his cap,
And guys in Canada settling in for a long winters nap,
When out on the back 40 there arose such a clatter,
It was Spiveyman, cap off again, hydraulic fluid a splatter,
Eddie and Oscar, possible TV show staring themselves,
And TBNers laughing out loud as they pictured Bird as an Elf,
Scotty in Vermont just received some new fallen snow,
Rob at his new log home gazed at objects below.
"I" looked out my window and what should appear,
It was Santa in a Kubota pulling a Deere!!
I thought for a moment...what a smart man St. Nick?
But it was a New Holland painted orange, someone was playing a trick!
The closer they got the diesel I could smell,
Then he whistled, and shouted, it was tractors everywhere!
Now, Kioti! Now, Massey!, Now Kubota and Deere!
Overtake that New Holland before Jim Inman gets here,
Too the top of that hill and get out of sight,
Hunterridge is coming and Karolina's in flight,
Up the hill I ran as fast as I could,
I could see the tractors were leaving from there where I stood.
But with one last leap I flew through the air,
I awoke with a thud at the bottom of the stair.
You see I was dreaming of tractors and such,
Of TBNers and friends and a big diesel truck,
My wife stood at the top and looked down to see if I was alright,
"No more TBN for you this late at night".
So with a bag of ice on my head and
A Tylenol in my hand,
I say "Merry Christmas to All"
And to all "GOOD NIGHT"!
Wishing all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
