One of the first things that I "improved" on our Kubota L3400 was the front grill guard, or Lack of. Now I would highly recommend doing this to any tractor even if it isn't going to be used in the woods. First off, I wanted something that was going to be strong, but would also let the headlights shine through too. So I decided that expanded metal should do the job. So after a little cutting, welding, manipulation, and some kubota orange paint It was ready for work. I think the hardest part of the project was trying to remount the grill gaurd. "It's heavier than it looks." And now after several years of abuse, it has saved the front grill from numerous limbs, trees, and other things, mainly do to operator error. But, we're not going to talk about that.

Good job. I recall another member here on TBN doing a similar project on his BOTA. I can't recall the OP but the thread was several weeks back.

I should have had a grill guard made up years ago. Now I'll be doing a heavy duty grill with no need for a guard in the near future. For now, the plastic factory grill has been ripped off and we have a BBQ grill bungi corded in its place:thumbsup:

I am thinking of mounting the replacement headlights (cheap automotive foglamps) up near the driver on the loader frame.

Teg, yeah I (in the linked thread above) didn't go back down under like you did as I didn't think about it plus access to the mounting bolts was hard enough this way. Mostly I didn't think about it

I like you girly men using the loader to lift the grill in place. Real Men (tm) do it by hand, like I did! Actually I found if you lay one corner on the deck, you can tilt it up into place to get one bolt started. Then just rotate all the way up to get a second one going and you are home free.

:D ..it's not the first... nor the last time I've been called a girly man...
