Hydraulic top link help needed

dixie, just in case you don't know what DPCV do, it keeps an implement from dropping down even if it looses pressure. It has to have a certain amount of pressure to move it. (correct me if I'm wrong, please)

MtnViewRanch does not have that but his can "float" in and out when you need that function. His will also hold an implement in place but if your valves leak, that will also be seen in the implement dropping down.

Both have their place and use... You can do plenty of reading about both types by searching "DPCV"...

Teg, can you explain a little more about "float".

Some spools have what's call "Float Detent", it locks the valve in an open position (so of speak) to allow the hydraulic cylinder to freely move in and out with no pressure. FEL have this feature if you push it all the way forward, it will lock in. This allow the bucket to float along the surface of the ground and you can smooth out rough areas.

For a Toplink, that mean if you have it in float position, you can pull or push the rod to fit an implement. Where the DCPV you have to use the valve to adjust it to the correct length. It can only be moved under pressure.

Teg thanks for the info. I am looking at getting TnT for my Bobcat 235. I have two rear remotes. One has a detent and one does not. From what i have read in the manual, I thought in the detent position hydraulic fluid is constantly supplied to the implement.

Float position is a great option to use with a hydraulic side link when final grading- smoothing out a road also. Especially where you have intersections such as a Y in the road. It's not that you use it a lot, but when you need it, it is VERY nice to be able to use it.

The valve for rear remotes normally does not have detent or float, and on some valves can be added.

When one adds rear remote, they should think about what their needs will be later on.

I think if I added remote valves, I would consider a three spool valve one spool with float, and one with detent for constantly running hyd motors, or log splitters, etc.

The first spool with float and the second spool operate the T-N-T, and the third spool with detents for something like hyd motors, log splitter, BH, etc.

If this were a stacked valve, you could add more spools for other functions, at any time.

This valve should also have PB.
