You know, the more I think about it the more I think I should just make a concrete 3ph ballast. That way she is not so heavy when I need to trailer her. I have a ABS drum that would be perfect.
I will make it 5-600 lbs.

This is probaly more elaborate than you want but this is about 900lbs on the back of my CK30. I did make one other the same size with flat bar sticking out to attach to the 3PH for friend of mine. I work at a manufacturing plant with access to concrete everyday so it was easy for me. Just food for thought .

This was the same device I used on my previous CK20 (first photo). It started out as a set of forks on the 3PH, then I built a new set of forks for the front when I got the CK30 with the skidsteer QA (second photo). I made a weight for the rear that just attached the same as the forks (I cast a piece of channel iron in the concrete for a hook). Make sense? Fire with any questions you want, always willing to share ideas.

I have gotten some ideas from this. I am going to fill my tires. That will give me 500lbs total in the rear. The. I may do a 3ph fork with 50 gallon barrel and fill with water. That would be 1000lbs total. Then if I want to float the machine I can bring the barrel empty and full onsite.

On my DS45 I'm happy having the 600lb slasher always on the back, 1200lb FEL always connected and tyres fully widened.
For my needs, that is fine for loader work and plenty stable for working slowly on the hills.
If I needed more traction for doing ground work then I would consider filling them.:thumbsup:

So I had tubes put in and each tire took 28 gallons. I tried out the subsoiler today in a couple inches of snow and frozen ground. No traction problems at all. I did get a little slippage once when the shoe was hooked on a root. Other than that I am really happy.
Now I'm drooling over a hydraulic top arm.

I use 4 Farmall A wheel weights which weigh about 150 lbs each on my
draw bar with a clevis each side with a chain between to hold them in place.
worked good on my 8N. Have not had a chance to try them on the Kioti yet.

Lots of ways to do it. pick the one you want to use and use it.
