Don't quote me on any of this. I just copied it from another thread. Sorry if it is wrong.

I think the secret forum allows discussion of politics/religion/which is better 9mm or .45 / R1 vs r4's / ginger vs maryanne.. those sorts of hot topics

Led lamp - Need Help~~ - TractorByNet.com

Text in case its deleted:

my friend has a problem about led lamp: he is a background in working with simple circuits i find from the net and modify a bit for his needs.
he wants to build a nightlamp with leds. The effect he wants to achieve is that when turned on, 30 leds are on. Every minute, one led turns off until all of them are off and the circuit does not restart.
He couldn't find one that keeps that led on.
Any thoughts or help about the problem???Thanks~~~

If you look at his profile however it contains links to LED light manufacturers. and it says he's a lighting designer.. surely he knows the answer to the above question. Hes a new member. 12 posts, and his user name is Rockleds. Spammers are getting clever.

Aww. I see what you are talking about spam threads. At least I think I do. But like everyone said. What does this have to do with tractors? Oh I guess he might have wanted to decorate his tractor hahaha

He was showing twelve posts. So if you set the threshold at ten you won't stop him. Where do you set it, then? BTW, I didn't see a link or a signature (?).

Somebody in the thread said the guy had been making posts; I guess just to get his count up to beat a threshold.

IDK, maybe better to just ignore them. They're aggravating all right.

Personally id set it at 25 minimum, 50 would be better, before enabling hotlinks and sigs.

Will there be people that post nonsense to get around it, absolutely. But it will slow them down a bit.

I dont think hes posting to meet a threshold. Im ASSUMING that hes just a spammer that hasnt been busted yet.

As to links, have a look at his signature on his profile page/posts. He bolded the name of his company and their products. His is a more mild and more tricky type of spam to catch, most just put active hyperlinks in their profile/sig.

When i say these new spammers make "somewhat sensical" posts, have a look at some of his here http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/search.php?searchid=7295729 AS you can see they just dont "sound right" and its not really a language problem

The point of all this is that spammers are getting sneakier and more modern/intrusive measures need to be taken.

Do you think he could be a 'bot? Or some kind of autopilot?

Honestly i dont know, but i suspect there is human interaction. The posts (not singling this one guy out, but others in my experience) do make SOME sense... but they just dont "flow". His posts are better than most ive seen.
