I have used the 89 stuff for all my small engines and preferably without ethanol. Have not had any issues with any equipment and as soundguy mentioned other than spending more I don't think it would make a difference

Here in Minnesota all on-highway is 10% minimum ethanol (corn farmer lobbyists win big time) but a lot of stations sell off highway and classic car premium ethanol free for about 60 cents more per gallon and that is what I use in my saws, trimmers, and ATVs.

That seems to be the latest and greatest hot topic going on at work right now. High octane gas will solve all of a persons chain saw, weed eater, generator, and everything else that could possibly be wrong with a gasoline engine these days. Not all things these days are bad. I just changed spark plugs and wires on my two pickup trucks. Both trucks have 100,000+ miles. Imagine trying to run a set of plugs and wires for 100,000 miles back in the 1960's.

Reading some threads posted on TBN and speaking to a local small engine shop he recommended SEA FOAM so off to Menards I went and have been using it ever since.

overpriced for what it does. Back to topic.

I use 87 in all my saws, blowers, weed eaters etc. I have never found a reason to go higher.

i've used seafoam to clean up valve stems in a gummed up engine. worked almost as good as acetone mixed with atf when cleaning up the deposits that locked the valves in place and made decorative artwork out of all my intake pushrods.. etc.

You can get Amsoil Form power which does more for less...Or even B12..or MMO.... Throw in TCW-3.

It's [seafoam] been around a long time. Originally used to decarbonize marine two cycles. Heck, I used it at $5 a can..

Car forums started hyping de-carbonizing the engine through the brake booster vacuum line, it got popular, and the price shot up to $9 a can. IMHO, it is not a $9 product

Other are cheaper. Heck Neutra 131 will blow it away.

I have 3 stihl chain saws and i use Stihl 2 cycle oil, cheap gas and a touch of gas stablizer, 2 generators, a miller gas driven welder / generator, Honda motor on my splitter, Skag ztm with a kohler and an echo weed wacker. I have experienced no problems with any of my gas motors but. . . the gas doesn't sit around long at our place. I think the gas stablizer helps but who knows .. . John
