The dealer I bought my Kubota L45 from does not stock Kubota UDT or super UDT (due to cost and they state it is not better than what they use). They use SERVICE PRO Premium Universal Hydraulic Tractor Fluid for service. They also use it in all their rental equipment with no appearent problems. Service Pro is about half the cost of UDT and 1/3 the cost of super UDT. The L45 uses about 12 gallons of hyd oil, huge cost savings if I use "non Kubota" hyd oil. Anybody use Service Pro?

I'm located a few miles to the north of you, in between Knoxville and Crossville. All of the Kubota dealers in my area carry Kubota UDT and the newer Super UDT 2 (SUDT2) hydraulic fluid. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the other fluid.

I think this is one area where Kubota dealers could improve. For example if the Kubota manual says to use Kubota UDT or SUDT hydraulic fluid and to use 10W30 engine oil with API rating CF, and the Kubota dealer does not carry either one and recommends something else. In the past I have contacted Kubota with similar questions using the contact form on their website.

I'm using SUDT in my tractor and will switch to SUDT2 for the next change. Do you have a hydrostatic transmission? Several Kubota owners on TBN with HST transmissions have commented that their tractors seem to run better with SUDT (those that switched away from SUDT and those who switched to SUDT).

I agree that it is expensive to go with SUDT2, fortunately you don't have to change hydraulic fluid very often.

In my opinion, those Kubota products are excellent quality products. So would be the Chevron 1000 THF, or Mobilfluid 424. Find a place you like to buy at, and that has a good price, and use that oil. I bought this spring a brand new John Deere 6330 Tractor. At the appropriate time, it will get changed out to Chevron Fluid, I'm not paying John Deere for their nice looking pails. You can do the same thing. You didn't say who "Service Pro" was, not familiar with them.

If the fluid passed UDT spec's, you are fine. Kubota has been overpriced hyd fluids for about 10 years! Kubota Sudt (not synthetic) was about 50% more then Amsoil (synthetic) back in the day; what does that tell ya..$9 for an oil filter? JOKE

I like Kubota but their parts are a major revenue maker.

I have used Chevron Synthetic All-Weather THF for 6 years.

The specs meet and exceed sudt, and I have experienced excellent very cold/very hot performance.
