...and a few more options...

What else do they offer, or are these just another set of ingenius ideas that we will see "shortly".

Well they offer the heated option, a literature box, a swivel, left and right arm rests, a head rest. Comes standard with an operators presents switch and a optional orange seat belts.

I've been doing a good bit of research on this seat. On the OEM seat as you and I have our seat measuring from the floor to the top of the seat cushion measure at 12". With this seat the measurement comes in at 6" making this seat only half the height of the OEM.

Also measuring the OEM back portion of the seat the from the floor to the top of the OEM is 29". This Grammer is only 24" without the optional head rest.

If you went with the swivel option for this seat it may not work very well because the seats length is 24" and there would be very little to no room for the seat to actually swivel because of the small storage unit behind the seat.
The full stroke on this seat is 3.1 inches.

I would like to have seen this seat a little higher from the floor to the seat cushion although it could be made to go higher be building up the floor area as the OP has done but I'd go higher if it was mine.

This is a great thread. I broke my back and need a comfortable operators station to be able to work comfortably for long hours. I just ordered an M8540 Narrow which I have been told has the same cab as the Grand L series and as a result there is no factory air seat option (I asked). So when it gets here and I get a chance to put some hours on it I will see if I need to upgrade seats or not.

Paul,

What are you seeing for pricing for these?

Robert sorry to hear about your back problems. Hope your doing better now. I just ordered a new air ride seat today and it should be here in a week then I'll start the install. Although my seat is a Grammer air ride it's not like the one posted on this thread. I did a nice bit of research on this. My seat is more the same size as the ones in the 5740's and is classed as an agucultural seat. I'll be starting a new thread on the install when it arrives. Stay tuned :D

Paul,

Today I ordered the Grammer air ride seat. It looks very similar to the OP seat but very close to the same size as the one in our tractors now. The seat I have ordered will fit into the same cavity as the original one. I do think I'll have to make a small mod but not sure yet.
For the cloth air ride seat with optional head rest, optional seatbelt kit, optional arm rests and literature box came in with shipping to my door at $ 1177. So I'm happy. I'll be happier if it actually fits

Thanks, I am ok. Able to do just about everything I could before but I need an operators station where I can move a little as needed and just be comfortable since I spend a lot of time on tractors. My 1920 is terrible seat wise but at least theres enough room to shift as needed to relieve any stress my back has.

I am looking forward to your thread. Please post a link to this thread so I don't miss it.

Rich? Now see that depends on how you measure wealth. Having a great wife of 30 years and two boys in the Canadian forces sure makes me feel rich. This tractor is part of my business and two keep my business profitable I need to remain healty. Having a comfortable seat will help in that area. I think any of us that owns a tractor of any kind are doing very well these days when you consider there's plenty of folks out there that are having a hard time to make ends meet. As for the seat I ordered. My wife insisted I have it.

Well a $125. of that price was shipping. Living on an island don't come cheap. I plan on keeping this tractor for awhile so over the life of the machine the cost will be penneys a day. That's how I'm justifying it anyway

Glad to hear your doing well sir. Sounds like you've been through allot. Your going to really enjoy your new tractor. I'll make sure I post the link to the new thread here when I start it in a week or so.

4Shorts are you getting the fore/aft aswell? Your right I did not get swivle option, with the fore/aft it would have been to high. As you figured out mine is larger the OEM :)
Now a grand for a seat........with rods....yes two of them...I can spend all day in the cab now and not be crippled when I get out. it was worth it to me, the last tractor had almost 2000 hours on it. so I can swap this seat into the next one if needed. The is a arrow for the air guage, with my weight on the seat adjust arrow in the middle and I have as yet never bottomed or top this seat out.....makes a sweet comfortable ride.

Yep. According to the photo the fore/aft is included. There is no OPS on this seat but i dont care about that. The Grammer I ordered has the same size base size and height as the OEM one but the floor has to be level for it to work so I have a small mod I need to do on the floor.

Did you ever price up the OEM seat? Shocking to say the least. If you anyone had to replace there OEM seat the OEM system will cost you just for the seat portion $1549.40. Then if you need the lower suspension system then that will cost you another $869. I think we got a deal lol

I did hit a snag on my air ride seat. The dealer i ordered the seat from said everything was in stock so we paid for it then they called back a few hours later and said they can't find the right arm rest in there stock so I told them not to ship the seat until they have all the parts. Now it will be a month before I get it.

They also told me to get the heated option it would cost an extra $300 and take at least 45 days so I'm passing on that and will add the heated option myself for 1/3 the cost. I'll have a thread on the full installation including adding the heated option when I get it all.
