Sorry, I mixed up the measurement units. It's a good 4,5 ha or almost 12 acres of wood. We also own 24 acres of land currently under lease (thinking of cultivating a part of it myself in a few years). I already decided for ag tires sized 9,5-16/13.6-26. I'm sure 35hp would be enough for now but who knows for the future? What about reliability? Even more than the extra power I'm for the extra displacement. Thanks for everybody chiming in.

Are the engines sold as Cummins Diesel in Germany? Here in US, parts for the A1700 and A2300 series are available from Cummins.

If you are going to pull any ground engagement gear (plows, harrows, etc) I would recommend getting Ag (R1) tyres and the 45 HP engine in the 20 series frame. The 10 series is lighter, and may not have the traction of the heavier 20 series.

Good luck in your choice!

Engines are marketed as Kukje here, no word of Cummins. But a lot of dealers make no secret out it. I decided for the R1 tires 9.5-16/13.6-26 and probably 45hp. Definitely 20R frame. Nice to hear that Kukje engines can be repaired with Cummins parts. So they seem identical indeed. I hope I'm ready to order by end of the week. Tractor should be with me in 3-4 weeks if everything goes well.

The engines are made by Kukje, but Cummins maintains a parts train for them in the US.

I have the 4720 gear version, and it has been a very reliable farming partner. It has the same basic engine as the 4520R (the A2300, non-turbo) but without the additional emissions controls. I'm guessing the additional emissions controls are what dropped the HP by 2.

45 HP in low range / low gear can pull anything.

Und so, wie kriegt man soviel Bauernland in der naehe von Berlin? Sie sind wahrscheinlich ein Markgraf oder Herzog? :)

Haha, unfortunately not. It's the property of my grand parents, about 60 miles outside of Berlin. And where did you got your perfect German from?

Btw.: I just ordered a 4520R with BL25S FEL and R1 tires. Tractor should be here by Christmas. Dealer gave me a nice price on the 4-cyl and I couldn't resist. Now I'm so excited. :confused2:

Danke schoen fuer die nette Worte! I was stationed in Germany a few years back, in addition to having had a few German classes in school.

I think you have bought an excellent tractor, and you should expect many years and a LOT of hard work from it.

I have pulled out some very large logs using my 4720, and the tractor shows no signs of stress at all. That diesel engine has power even under some amazingly heavy loads.

I have their larger tractor. It is spec'd at 0.046 gal/hp/hr. If I am at redline hp, working the horses, that translates to 2.9 gal/hour. But I get a lot of tugging for that consumption. With the 4wd I am getting to use the implements I used with my 100 pto hp 2 wd previous tractor of a common brand that consumed twice the fuel. I assure you that these newer engines are well designed and fuel frugal as compared to tractors (I had) from yesteryear.
