Welcome to TBN, RockyCreek. The cab model 4720 is a very good tractor. Plenty of power, very durable, reliable and the cab is one of the very best available.

However, the tool should fit the job... If you'd let folk's here know just what kinds of work you have in mind for both your farm acres as well as the deer lease - we could weigh in with our idea's regarding how the 4720 might fit your operation.

The 4720 is a very fine tractor - can't go wrong with it. If you could give a little more too what you are going to be looking for and what you are wondering though that would be great:thumbsup:

I have a 4520 with cab and R1 tires. Before that a 3720 with cab and R4 tires. For planting or tillage work consider the R1s over the R4s. If you have lots of thorns or other nasties that could pucture the tire, go with R4s. R4s will ride a little smoother.

The 4520 has much better clearance and feels much more stable on slopes than the 3720.

Also consider the 4520 over the 4720. Save a few $$. The newer 4520's have the same hp as the older 4720s. (They increased the hp on the newer 4720's). The 4520 will have more power than traction anyway. If you have lots of easy mowing, consider the E-pto and it will allow the tractor to run at lower rpm and still have 540 pto speed.

A couple things I'd recommend: (I'm assuming you have nothing at the moment so correct me if I'm wrong)

If you are going to be doing a lot of mowing you would have enough HP for a batwing FINISH mower. You would not have enough for a rough cut mower. If you keep the trails like lawn it will work, if not you will not be able to get a bat wing.

Here's the batwing:

Here's a rotary cutter that will go through the rough stuff:

Also as far as a loader goes the 400CX is a must over the 400X. A couple hundred more bucks you get self leveling and more capacity. May want to consider the SSQA for the front as well, it will give you more options.

Get the 4th and 5th rear SCV option as well. Won't regret having them but will regret not having them.

For your grading I would get a BB4284 box blade. Very heavy duty, works as an excellent ballast for while using the loader. Here's a link:

Also for light grading I'd suggest looking at a Land Plane or a Back Blade for lighter grading as well. If you get a Back blade get the hydraulic blade so you don't have to get off to change the angle

Land plane:

Back blade:

Also, for your 3PH get a Top and Tilt system, really helps with grading.

I hope this is what you were looking for. I got into the attachments more than the tractor itself, but I hope it helped:thumbsup:

Great tractor, but have you looked at the new 5083e for the same or less money. It is a lot more tractor for the acres you have and has a very similar cab.

Aggie does make a great point. You can get a 5085e at a great price and will do a lot more work.

That's exactly the reason to understand the kind of work that will need to be accomplished on the 43 acres of farm ground and the 500 acres of deer lease.

That's a fair bit of land to work... and depending upon the how much of the ground will need to be tilled, planted, harvested and fall ground preparation as well as mowing - finish or rough cut - he might just be better off with a 5000 series machine for about the same $$$.
