coobie,

While I have several more expensive attachments for the x749 here is the one I get the most use out of. This lttle rake does a good job with yard cleanup and saves me a ton of time. Everything Attachments has their own version with replaceable tines that I would recommend.

Thanks, for the info on the rake.I bought a chain harrow that seems to do a pretty good job getting up the thatch.I also have a befco york rake that I use.Hopefully the JD X740 will arrive next week sometime.coobie

Coobie,
We have run a Kubota ZD21 for 6 years now - could not ask for better service out of a machine. But I'm very interested in how the Deere works out for you having come from a Kubota ZD machine. As previously mentioned, sometimes a ztr is not the best choice. We have a few lawns that are hilly and uneven, with optimal conditions it's hard not to spin a tire somewhere - almost impossible with damp grass. I've looked at the Deere X700 machines (never tried one onsite) and wondered how much time would be lost overall going to one. Looking forward to your review!

I got my X748 a month or so ago. We got a 60" 7 Iron mower deck with it. It mows great and the Commercial 7 Iron deck with Power Flow 17 bushel bagger picks up just about everything. The 7 Iron deck is a serious step up from the yellow mower decks as is much stronger, larger and has no internal bolts, webs etc for grass to catch on.

The Yanmar engine runs like a champ.

Coobie, how do you like your x740? I had been leaning toward an x530, but like the diesel. I am thinking about a smallish cyclone rake instead of the powerflow.
