John Deere 2520 & John Deere 445
Finally got a chance to blow some snow with the new setup yesterday. Not alot but had to clear some drifts in front of the 2 garages. Sittin in the "original cab" on the new 2520 is sooo nice compared to out in the open on the 445. I had removed the scraper blades on both blowers and replaced them with 1 1/4" schedule 40 steel pipe with welded on tabs to bolt on using the holes for the scraper blades. It rolled over the gravel and grass really nice. So far I am very pleased with this mod.

Built mine with 1.5 inch pipe also and a full length slot to fit over the scraper edge held on with tabs at each end So far has worked very well on my unfrozen gravel drive way much easier to set and maintain angle of "attach" Got idea from pickup snow plows that use them early on in the season to prevent tearing up unfrozen gravel and lawns 4 foot Erskine with total of 12 inches of wings pushed with JD 4300 Remove bucket from FEL and replace with blower Blower driven by external PTO hydraulic pump

Hello, I see that you have a vinyl cab on the 2520. I have a 2520 also. I was looking for a cab for it, found one called "Original Cab". Is that what you have on yours? If so, what do you think about it? Is it worth the money? Are you going to keep it on the tractor all the time, or take it off for the summer? Is it made of a Heavy weight vinyl or is it kind of cheap? I just don't want to spend the money on something that is cheaply made. Thanks, Fred

I notice your snow is rather green! :D
It sure has been a mild one so far this year. That pic was taken just before x-mas.

Yes Fred it is an "Original Cab". I do plan on taking it off for the summer. My wiring is modular to allow for easy connect/disconnect. I would say the vinyl is not all that heavy duty but for what I am using it for (a snow shelter) I would say it should hold up fine. I searched TBN for feedback on this cab before I bought mine and it seemed most were pleased with it for the price. I am

Fred, I, too, have a similar cab. I do not take the whole thing off. I just remove the doors (One bolt on each door) and the lower half off the front cover. (velcro and a few snaps.) That gives plenty of air and movement plus it gives me a roof over my head for sun, rain etc.
