Snow blowing with my Dong feng

I blew out my driveway of around 8" of snow, ice and sleet on friday with my DF254G2 and Braber 72" blower. Wow tractor acted like a large farm tractor and launched the snow a good 40'. Engine didn't bog down at all.

Best part is I just got done my driveway and a neighbour called and needed to be cleared out. I went the next morning after the temp dropped to -25C and cleared his front and back yard as he gets water in the basement otherwise. Did the job no problem and I asked who did his driveway and he said he did but then he broke the chain, sprockets, and broke a shaft on his blower. He then showed me his machine, a 3 year old Kubota BX series with a front blower.

I can't believe my Chinese tractor and blower did the job with seemingly little effort what broke his Kubota.

I like my little chinese tractor more every day.

Well thats half the battle when you like your tractor etc.

BX blower broke..could have been number things cause it..human error or object.

Be real carefull moving snow in and around other peoples houses. You never know what's under the snow.

Yes, I do not normaly clear others yards but he was right there and assured me it was all clear of obstacles and it was.

The worst is when you hit that cow bone that the dog buried under the snow on the driveway. Wakes you up in a hurry!!

When i first had a tractor with blower(which was 9ftx4ft w/155hp unit) i chewed up about half of a 2x4 before the shear pin broke. Also found a set of tire chains that were left out. My biggest fear with that old tractor was hitting the remote by mistake and turning the chute. Taking out the front windows of the house

Yes, I always make sure the chute is turned safely. My DF rear remote levers are down low and not easy to hit by mistake.

A question for those of you blowing snow. If you have a PTO with variable speeds, do you run your PTO at 540 or 1000 rpm? When I first got my tractor I tried at 540 but the snow was so deep it would just plug up the chute, plus when it did blow I couldn't get any distance on the snow. I tried 1000 rpm after that I can send the snow 30 feet in the air!! Works great if there's a little wind, blows the snow right off my yard!! However, I had a little clutch trouble recently and am wondering if the extra speed creates that much more wear and tear on the clutch?
