are you sure its a sims pump because if its a 345d it should be a rotary pump like on a 3930. does the injector lines come out the top or the back of the pump. If its a sims pump i would think you could have a barrell and plunger problem or the rack isn't work correctly either way it would need to come off and get repaired. If its a rotary pump there is a little screen in the back of the injection pump where the input line goes in you will have to remove the fitting that the line screws in there there will be a spring and you will need a pick to put down inside that whole and pull the screen out. I had a 4610 that was hard to start and didn't have no power and the screen was about halfway pluged so it didn't get the fuel it needed

And again, I am feeling like an idiot. The pump says Lucas CAV right on it. It does have a Sims cab though :confused2: I will check the screen tomorrow.

Thanks. I'll let you know what happens.

This has been a real disapointment. It barely runs my 7' snow blower, which is half the reason I got the tractor. I am about to put it back on my 860. I never had a lack of power with it the 860, just a lack of reverse gears, traction, and I froze my butt off.

It has a mechanical and electrical shut off. I checked the mechanical one. It is spring loaded, and all the the way open.

I checked the screen tonight. I took the whole filter assembly and all the lines off. There wasn't much dirt, but I blew out everything with compressed air to be sure.

Now I cant get it to run. I can't remember which way the little valve with the spring on it goes when I put it down in the screen filter. I bet I put it in backwards. Does the valve go down in with the open end of the spring facing up, or is it the other way? I tried it both ways. One way I got fuel out the bleeder when I cranked it, but not a big spray like I would expect. The other way I didn't get much fuel at all.

the valve goes in the loader end of the spring. put also since it has a electric kill soleniod have you checked to see if it is operating correctly and also if you pull it out you can remove the plunger out of it the screen the housing back end and try and see if it helps anything

I don't understand what you mean by "the valve goes in the loader end of the spring". Maybe I am not taking about a valve. It is a circular piece that is pushed by a spring. Both pieces go inside of the screen that you told me to clean. Does the circlular piece push against the fitting that screws on to hold everything together or does the spring go on the top, pushing the circular piece into the pump body?

How would I check the electric shut off?
