Tractor
kubota L3400
New guy here just checking in. Lot of great info here.

Well i made a recent purchase. Kubota L3400, 4wd, ag tires, 150hrs. with FEL.
Tractor serial # 57809.

Question; does the 3pt lift valve need to be upgraded, if so does anybody know the part #. Jerky lift syndrome - I have already purchased the return hose, not installed yet though.

Thanks:)

The valve can be adjusted at the dealer. My dealer here in Splendora (East Texas) just adjusted mine (L3800) and it's perfect.

You got yourself a great tractor.

Welcome aboard!

I don't have an answer for your question, but we're always glad to have another Texan join us.:) And yep, that's a nice tractor you've got.

The earlier L3400's used a different valve. According to what I have found, a serial number greater than 55652 and less than 61731 will have valve number YR909-00100 or 31351-39604 which includes your tractor, if it hasn't already been changed.

The latest valve for the L3400, to the best of my knowledge, is part number YR908-00104, which is in SN 85656 and higher. The L3800 uses a different part number, I think.

A dealer that's familiar with the Kubota parts book should be able to tell you what will work the best in your tractor, as well as contact Kubota for compatibility. The latest valve will help somewhat, but I believe fine tuning and careful set-up is the key to making it truly smooth.

Mine has a newer type valve, but it's far from smooth.

Changing the suction hose may help, it made no difference at all to mine.

Good luck and enjoy the tractor!

Welcome.

I purchased a used L3400 this past spring. It has loaded R4 tires, FEL, and back hoe. Seems like a nice tractor, I had a L2950 with FEL I traded in on it. I have the jerky hitch syndrome also. Nothing I really can't live with, but would be nice if it was smoother. I have been removing some trees and it seems to do the job fairly well.
