Brian,
I'd like to order that top link.
I think we decided on the
How do the flow restrictor's work, is that the same as a needle valve that I've heard about? Is it one per cylinder or one per hose? (meaning 2 per cylinder?)
A flow restrictor is a fitting that has a very small hole in it. For 2 1/2" dia cylinders I use a 45 thousandths hole. It slows the fluid down enough that you can make small adjustments much much easier. So it is sort of like a needle valve, but has a permanent setting and is not adjustable as a needle valve is. I recommend 1 per cylinder to be used at the closed end of the hydraulic, not the rod end. That way the restrictor has more fluid to restrict and works better IMO. I install the fitting right behind the QD on the hose. VERY clean and simple.
If you are ready for the top link, contact me on the Fit Rite website so we can get started on it.
