Another LED or Halogen light question

I believe the mounting bracket you are thinking of is the trailer stake pockets the gentleman used in the following post from Tractor Supply Company:

Hi Bird.

Yes, I think that may have been the ones I was thinking of.

It's a real nice clean look.

When I was doing my searches, I came across a lot of ideas and pictures, but these were among the cleanest look I saw.

I have also thought a lot about using the Magnet mounts that so many have used too.

I like the idea of being able to place the light anywhere on the ROPS. On top, bottom, or even on the arms of the loader.

Most people who have used them say they stay in place pretty well.

Just not as clean of a look as I like, but definagtely more flexible.

Thanks for that link.

I was seriously contemplating using this method for my rear lighting. In fact, I actually had those very brackets in my hand at Tractor Supply Company. However, I took advantage of the plastic canopy support frame I have on my B3200. I was able to utilize and existing bolt with a simple straight bar to mount my lights.....worked out great:

I'm not a fan of LED's in general because of the "temperature" of the light. But as another source you can also check out DDM Tuning. They make some very nice and affordable HID and LED lights.
I've got some of their 9 x 3w 2000 LED's and they're pretty sick.
j

what do you mean by the "temprature" of the light ???? dont halogen lights get hotter than the leds??

I don't mean to put words in his mouth but I believe he is referring to color temperature, not heat output.

Birdman1970,

I actually found some other brackets that I really like to mount the lights.

They are from Messick's. They are the "Billy Worx" Brackets:

Case 2X3 Light Bracket Part #3582

They have a very clean look and I should be able to mount them on my ROPS and figure out how to attach one front facing light and one rear facing light on each bracket.

If that does not work, I have found these brackets from TractorCabDepot:

ROPS Mounted Light Bracket (pair)

I'd go with those stake pocket brackets since they are a lot cheaper, but it looks like I'd have to get my hands on the flat metal stock and cut it to length and drill holes and paint it all.

If one of these other options do not work, then that is what I'll do.

Thanks, Tim

i dont know exactly what the light output a 55 watt halogen compared to an equivalent led light would be but i would think the led light would be the way to go due to the less electrical draw it requires but thats just my opinion
