Well y'all may have read my other thread Think I found my duallie - Page 2 - TractorByNet.com about finding my duallie.

I'm glad I listened to the advice here about getting 4x4. I stopped to pick up some furniture and drove across wet leaves and mud. The slope was somewhere between flat as water or flatter than day old roadkill. The duallie rear sunk in 1/4 inch and started spinning. 4 wheel pulled me right out. I've got highway tires and KNOW I'll need more grip when I start to go off road.

I still need to get a winch mount on the front.

I've seen two or three people buy dual wheeled trucks thinking the extra tires would give them more traction, but all it does is reduce the ground pressure thus reducing traction. I've always compared them to bull dozers. You can buy an LGP and work in softer areas easier but a regular dozer will move more dirt.

a locker rear end does tend to help a bit though on a 2wd unit..

when i get tires for my trucks i like Hankook AT3s they do great on and offroad stay away from BFGonowheres. i used my hankooks and when through 3ft of snow no problem. as for the winch mount i put a hitch on the front and can then put the winch front or rear and on my trailer. just my 2 cents
