L39 Rear Chains?

Found out this weekend that I could really use some chains for my L39 as I was trying to move logs around in the woods. Everything was great until the snow packed down and I was sliding all over.

I tried to search, but I couldn't find anything definitive. Are there any chains that fit the L39 without any special modifications?

I bought the 2-link ladder chains 15-19.5 Tractor Tire Chains $315.43 for the rear tires only.

They are close but I had no problem with them hitting.

Awesome. Those were EXACTLY what I was looking at.

How do they perform?

Do they chew asphalt, or do they behave?

I didn't feel chains would fit on the back also so I have front chains on. Traction is great.

I don't want to drag this into another discussion of the merits/demerits of chains on the front, but how does the machine handle with only the front having traction?

they make a huge difference on ice/packed snow, mud.

Make sure they are tight! put them on drive 25 feet, tighten them again, repeat.. (this should be done with all chains) They never hit, even while tightening them.

They do not tear up blacktop just driving over it but you do have to be careful not to spin on blacktop.... They will leave scratch marks. And it is bad for the chains.

On my other backhoe (2 wheel drive) I had V-Bar ladder chains Although they were great for not getting stuck, they would destroy blacktop and if you spun on blacktop there was a hole.

The machine has great traction with only the front chains. I have already pulled out 3 vehicles this winter including the pickup snowplow for the road. I have 2 link chains and nasty hills I go up and down and have no problems. I did have to trim the metal angle below the exhast for the chains to work but it was only a 10 minute job. You will see what I mean if you turn your front wheels fully right there's not much space between the wheel and the exhast guard. I just used a grinder to nip off a bit.

Don't know the brand. I ordered them through my local Kubota dealer. They are 2 link plus I use rubber bungie cords to tighten them up.

Ok, that was my main question. I can easily find 4 link on the web, I will keep digging for 2 link.
