I was taking my loader off this evening and putting the rubber caps back on the tractor side of the quick coupling.I had one or two that would not stay on so I took a zip tie and put it around the cap.Not too tight just enough to make it fit snug.Haven't test it out yet but I believe it will keep the cap on.

Just a thought:
Can you put a snugged up zip tie around the hydraulic hose and the cap's attachmant strap which is streched back far enough to keep tension on the cap and hydraulic fitting? Sounds like the way you have done it, you may have to cut the zip tie for removal. If left on it might even fall off when not in use with the tractor in motion.
Replacement may be the way to go here. TSC sells them in various colors and sizes for a few bucks a set.

Where I put the zip tie was around the round part of the cap. It's just snug enough to put tension where it slides on the quick coupler.I would take a pic but it is raining outside.

One of my home kid jobs for an allowance was to feed our two kenneled field dogs and on one dark winter evening when it was pouring outside and I hemmed and hawed about getting wet, I remember my dad saying as he guided me to the back door, "Don't worry son, the rain won't hurt you, there's no soap in it!":)

Felmow,

I did the same thing on a couple of male connectors that I use for angling my FEL mounted snow plow. The rubber caps just seemed to loosen after a couple of years. I always use black zip ties for applications that involve the sun beating on them and they have lasted 3 years now. Like you mentioned, you just snug the zip tie enough to keep good tension which will not prevent removal or installation of the cap.
