How many watts is this heater? If it for a cab it is probably very low. I expect a simple 240 volt electric heater would not be much more expensive than a transformer.

Heat output wull be plenty and it is economical with the diesel and also the thermostat is programmable etc etc.

Much cheaper than electric over here and we dont have gas piped to us.

I'm guessing you need to step down to 24V for the control circuit, is that right? If that's what you want to do then yes, transformers are available. I have a few in stock at work. I use them on heat pumps in the building. Mine will drop 277V down to 24V for the control circuit. I'm sure most electrical stores should carry them.
If you want to step down from 240V ac to 24V dc to operate a 24V dc heater that's a whole different ballgame.

Arrrh, forgot about the AC and DC current doooh:confused2:

Could just use batteries and charge them overnight I spose, need some form of cheap heating that doesn't need wood chuckin on it every two or three hours

You can buy a 120 / 240V ac to 24V dc battery charger to keep the batteries topped off.

Oh, it's a Diesel heater. Use a DC Power supply.

A lot of home sprinkler systems run on 24vdc. You may be able to find a cheap transformer from a sprinkler supply place.

If it's just a transformer it is AC. Maybe it is a power supply.
