I'm going out and plant some tree seeds. In just a few years there will be some branches that will need trimming. :) Hope to have enough branches for some Head to head competition.

That gives youall time to stock up on equipment (duct tape & baling wire) and really be ready. :D

They make what I call a cable saw just for this purpose. It consists of a braided flexible wire cable with a grit adhered to the working surface. It is for wood , i.e., branches.

Attach one length of rope to each cable end.

Make a Sailor's "Monkey's Fist", for heaving, at one far rope end. With several tries, pitch the Sailor's Monkey Fist in such a way as to go up and over your offending lbranch.

Walk the business section of the cutting cable down into position.

Recommend sufficient run on both ropes and a partner. Like in days of old, you let up while your partner pulls down, and vice versa.

Both individuals stand far enough back from under offending branch.

Usually takes no longer than 15 minutes are so. The working portion of the cutting cable usually goes through most woods like butter.

Trouble with climbing, ladders, and lifts. Unless it is a small offending brach - you may whind up supporting all of the weight and / or whind coming down in an unpleasant way.

Kinda looks like the ground crew are making a wish , yes looks like the 2013 rungers competition is shaping up to be more competitive with all the new contestants.

I'm not to worried about Crash though, but I have been teaching my Grandson the ropes and prepare to compete with him when his trees are contenders.

A friend and I are planning to remove an offending branch located above his shed in the backyard. Will have to take pics so we can compete. So far he has turned down my suggestion that we rent a scaffold lift and wasn't to enthrilled by thoughts of an extension ladder in the bucket of FEL. We shall see what transpires in the spring.

Oh side note he is accident prone and is healing from broken bone in the area of his right ankle that occurred while Doe hunting with the muzzleloader. :)
