Need to cut off a dead limb about 30' above ground

I dunno if that contest is closed or ongoing ... but, it looks like I may have to rent that lift again when it comes time to cut the truss tails off evenly & attach the fascia board.

I could revive my step-ladder-atop-tractor-roof setup to cut off the truss tails, which are at about 15' above ground, but attaching the fascia boards to the gable ends of the roof are higher - The peak itself is right at 20' above ground, & there's nowhere to lean an extension ladder; it's kind of out in mid-air  ... and the overhand in that area is 3', so I don't think I can just easily lean the ladder against the truss & reach out behind me to the fascia board ... or can I?! :confused2:

Anyway, if I have to rent the lift again I will make darn sure there are pics this time.

Good grief I've made this thing (too) tall. But, whatever it takes to take the lead in this competition.

Yo Bep, my offer still stands

Shivers run down my spine....OMG, it's Chad Man in his ever vigilant search for the elusive Chad micro dimple in the non punched card such that an aspiring voter might actually have voted:D

It's like the tree falling in the forest....ear-ily, no Chad or dimple = unheard of voting and the green tree which is the root and very fiber of American plural democracy gave it's all for nought ...didn't even get punched out:p

I know not what course others may take, but as for me, let the chads fall where they may, but, please, let the chads FALL:D. (Apologies to Patrick Henry)

Circle the wagons, texasjohn is chad mad , it's over my friend all is chad free now, it pains me that the judge of this Florida ladder riggin contest was so sidetracked by a simple pic.
I am willing to contribute to any funds that may go towards rehabilitation, now let's just settle down abit and return to business at hand. btw contribution of above referenced funds does not constitute a bribe in any form or fashion, nor was intended to sway your vote as according to the rules, that would be illegal.

All's OK, Dami buddy, I'm ready to Chad out:) And surely no chads were harmed in this Chad free zone:thumbsup:

Bep, if you again rent the lift and discover you must additionally do ladder rigging to Get your job done, then seems to me that this would be an acceptable entry in the competition.:licking:

Oh, it's my move?

I added two 4'-long 2x4s to the bottom of my extension ladder to make it about 2.5' taller ... It was just a little too short to safely reach the top of the 16' high pole barn's beams.

Placed a 2x4 on each leg & ran an all-thread rod thru each of 2 ladder rungs & thru holes I drilled in each 2x4. It is extremely secure, but makes the ladder that much heavier.

Again, I have no pic, yet, but will try to remember to take one today

Lets get them pictures posted.

But I think you are trying to cheat. All-thread, now that ain't fair. Get back to bailing wire & duct tape. :D:laughing::thumbsup:

Any real red neck knows that if that don't work, taint worth doing.

:shocked: omg! Bep I didn't see that one comin, I guess if it were pert-iner 300.00, vrs maybe 10.00, I would do the same. Now I just need to get that pesky hose bib untangled out of my rungs and see what I can come with.

Meant to add there Bep, if you drill holes 1" apart in those 2x4 legs, you will be able to adjust for unlevel ground, don't wanna see ya get hurt.

Don't know how long it's going to take you to complete, I hope you used pressure treated 2x4"s . and please, try to use a smart phone as you know I'm watchin :D:D
