Great post as always! Thanks for sharing and the detail you add.I must say...your getting very good at video too. ....but that shouldnt surprise me or anyone else for that matter as you obviously strive for excellence! Your posts are inspiring,Thanks!!
I know I'm fixing to embarrass myself but want to show a grill I'm customizing on my 2520. This project is from " your inspiration". I just wished you were closer to Texas for access to "your tools". Here's a couple of pics.....please be gentle....I bruise easily:D

BTW...The 2520 grill comes with only 2 cross bars. I added the bottom bar and bent it to match the upper 2 bar radius's. The 2 doors are for access to the locking mechanism on the left and the right one will be for a 12v plug in for a winch. Its still a work in progress. I also added the side wings to mimic the larger deeres

Man oh man I got to tell you that I'm very impressed with that guard. I like the design and you gave it a nice custom look. I think your being a little hard on yourself here. That's a nice bit of work you've got done. Man it sure makes that front portion look well protected. Please show us photos of it when you get it completed. I bet you have also inspired others by showing your very cool project and thanks for sharing it. I just love that color as well. :)

Thank you for your kind words on my work. I really needed to do something about the seat in this new tractor. This winter I have to travel the machine a little farther to some new customers and I got tired of the seat bottoming out so I knew I had to do something about it.
I've always said that it's the ultimate compliment when someone says that I've inspired them so thank you for that.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I don't think it will be nominated for an Emmy but I am always trying new ideas.
Thanks for sharing your work. I really enjoyed seeing it.

Thanks!!....that means alot coming from THE man. I will definitely post up a pic when done. I'm smoothing the welds a little now, then I think I will send it out for powdercoating.

That is nice and I commend you as well. I already had the Grammar Seat in my M9 and 105 but without air ride so I took 2 National air ride seat bases that I bought at a truck salvage yard for 50 bucks each and put the OEM seats on the National bases. I added a small 12 volt air bag compressor in the base and viola, I had air ride seats... 2 for 200 bucks total. Mine has lumbar and swivel. No heat however. I think all the Grammar seat fabric is glued down, mine was too on both tractors.

I was going to slip a 12 volt mullion array under the fabric....:(

I know what you paid for that seat in USD but I won't tell.:)

Your more than welcome. You really have a good eye for this sort of thing. I really enjoy seeing this kind of stuff. The fun part comes after you get it completed and someone with a tractor like yours see's it and says to them self " gee mine don't have a grill guard like that"!
Can't wait to see it completed. Don't forget to post photos. I'll be waiting to see them :D

Thank you. You did good on your seats. I thought about doing something similar but work has been busy and just never had the time.
A buddy of mine that owns a fleet of tractor trucks told me I could get enough hardware out of some trucks he has to make a nice seat but when I factored in my time and all the fooling around running around trying to piece it together I figured I'd go with a brand new fresh one.

Even though the seat I was taking out was brand new I found the upholstery very hard as well as a poor mechanical setup under it.
I checked my receipt and not including shipping which was $125. from Montreal the seat cost me $1025. Our dollar is at par with the US dollar so it is comparing apples to apples.

As soon as the orginal seat came out I sold it for $500. so this new air ride cost me $525. Plus four hours and a bad back for a day lifting the thing in and out the cab.
Seeing I just had a birthday a little while ago my son picked up the cost of the shipping. He keeps telling me I'm the toughest person in the world to shop for.

I wasn't to disappointed that I couldn't get the heating eliments in it and that even worked out in my favor because I now have to order another set to put in a customers truck so it's been a win win situation.

The orginal seat had a 15 degree swivel in it that I never used. I really didn't like it. If it was going to swivel I'd rather have it go farther than 15 degrees but with these cabs being so narrow that can't happen and now with this larger Grammer it's impossible but I'd never use the swivel if it could only go 15 degrees anyway.
By the time Sunday comes we will have had three snow storms so I got this seat installed just in time to enjoy it.
Thanks for commenting.

Had a buddy point out to me that I didn't mention what model number the seat was. Sorry about that
It is a Grammer MSG-93-721. The head rest, L&R armrests, seat belt and literature box is optional equipment. Here's a few more photo's. One of them shows the lumbar adjustment.

Here is where I purchased it.Great folks to deal with

I can only echo the accolades of the other posts Paul. I knew you were good with metal but now I see you are well on your way to becoming a movie director/producer too!

I hope you are enjoying the snow in your new tractor. I purchased a new snow blade for my B26 this summer and have only used it twice to far here north of Toronto. We not only had a green Christmas but almost a completely green January too. I'm just glad I didn't spring for the Laurin cab last fall as it certainly hasn't been needed so far this winter.

All the best and enjoy that reduced back pain.

Well thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the video. Ive had a few of my local friends even say they enjoyed it and I really appreciate your thoughts on my work as well.
We got dumped on again today and more snow on the way for tomorrow evening. Lots of seat time now and lots of snow on the ground.
We also had a green Christmas. It seems our winters are taking longer to get here and so is our summers.

Sorry to hear you haven't been able to get out with your new blade but the winter is not over yet so keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks again for your kind words. It's nice to see there are guys out there actually reading my threads. Cheers. Paul
