You are shooting a .22 because you are retired (like me) and it's a retiree's caliber IOW.....cheap.

Big ones are big bucks, even if handloaded....
They claim a bullet for this gun is about $40.

Mace, I never knew such a device existed. Clearly simply a destructive device.:)

It can't be carried or shot from the shoulder.
No clue to accuracy or target used.
Why put a scope on it?

Fails every test for practical but I'd put it on the mantle if gifted with it.;)

RCBS has the best customer service, IMO. I bought a 5-stage Progressive press off of Craigslist two yearsa ago. When I broke the clear plastic powder-drop tube I called RCBS to buy a replacement. They sent it for free. They Rock!

They sure are good, the second one I bought had a different style lever and I inquired how to buy the old style and they sent a new one no charge. The old 4x4 auto indexing was overly complicated though and removed it to make it manual, later models like the 5 station are much better.

Charlie, you're very right, tender, lean, tasty.

I recovered the spent bullet from two of them. Heart shot traveled thru body and ribs but could not punch thru opposite side and lodged just under skin as small bump on other side. Pretty mangled up, but clearly mushroomed just as it should have. Other two were entry wounds only as well. Neck and shoulder, spine stopped both. Have shot many whitetail with 30-30 but can't recall not having an exit wound before. Axis are really solid:)

Pretty nice to hunt...no closed season, no limit, day or night, big horns, big body, pretty hide, daytime feeders, no tags, buck or doe. Being introduced, they are pushing out the whitetail and spreading all thru the hill country.

Perhaps an exercise in the absurd?

Ref. the .950JDJ I shot a .375JDJ once in a Thompson Contender handgun. The key word is once. It had a muzzle brake on it, and there was not much muzzle flip, but the recoil impulse was straight back into your wrist.. No thank you, I am done with hard kicking handguns and rifles. I will leave them to younger, tougher men.

Here's another good reason: Just watch the first minute and the last one. It's 9 mins long and the driver keeps doing the same thing. The first and last minutes is all that count.

He's been sentenced to 2yrs in the poky. Pretty short for attempted murder. The guy might have been armed and this could've went way differently.

Doesn't excuse the truck drivers stupidity, but the motorcyclist should not have been passing (at 1:02) as that stretch of road had a double yellow line.

I'm really surprised the guy in the truck would do that, just judging by his profile with the quad in the back he would appear to be the type that's into motor-sports and would be tolerant of someone who wanted to go faster than him on, especially on a motorcycle.

I think 2 years prison time is excessive, unless he must of had priors, he did leave him enough room, Just barely but he could of pushed him off the road. Not defending him, it was extremely stupid and dangerous. If he did push him off the road that would be equivalent to attempted murder IMO.

Just because it was a double yellow no passing zone, has absolutely no bearing on the truck drivers actions.

The double yellow line rule isn't always applicable. It depends on State law. In PA, one can pass at a yellow line as long as there is a certain amount of visibility. I think it's 300 yards, but I'm not 100% sure.
That doesn't mean the motorcyclist wasn't violating that state's law though...
I wonder how many beers the pick up driver had before the incident?

That's what it looked like to me too...but I can't judge a motorcycle's speed anymore....

The bikes looked like they were speeding to me. They were really taking the corners on the bikes and the truck looked like it was having problems keeping up.

The truck driver was flat out wrong for almost running the bike off the road.

If the bikers were speeding as they appear to have been they were putting themselves and the public at risk as well. The crops along the road looked like they were blocking the view of the bikers especially in the curves. Anyone pulling out from one of the farms or houses could easily have missed seeing the bikes because of their speed and how they were driving. If the bikers had come on a tractor or a vehicle turning into a drive I doubt they could have stopped in time.

There is a guy with a motorcycle that rides the road behinds us and he really winds that bike up. The road is mostly straight but there are curves but his biggest problem is people pulling into/out of a driveway. Oh yeah, the deer darting across the road. One day he is going to eat something and it ain't gonna be pretty.

A little off topic but
I use to crank my rice burners up to just over 100MPH, late 70's early 80's when that was fast.

I would find a road where there were no driveways or other "vehicle" traffic.

One day I was tucked, flying down a section of highway that was never opened to traffic, one of those highways to nowhere. when this woodchuck waddles out directly in my path, there was nothing I could do but let off the throttle and hope for the best.

Just missed him thankfully, this was an out of the way place if I went down, no one would of found me for awhile. I'm sure the woodchuck must of looked something like  when I went by him at that speed

I had a similar close call years ago when I just missed a farmdog that ran out of the ditch to chase me when I was doing about 103 mph indicated (probably closer to 95-97 true speed). I doubt there was a foot between us, and it happended so fast that I didn't even have a chance to let off the throttle. It wouldn't have been pretty if I'd hit him.

Back then, I never worried about a deer crossing the road. Now that's a real concern, let alone the usual issues with inattentifve drivers or the imbeciles like in the OP's video. Guess I just got older....

I would love to get a motorcycle but it does not make money sense and even if it did, the drivers out there are just too dangerous even though I drive an F350.

This morning a twit in a truck was following the guy behind me. The Twit could not have had more than 2-3 feet between his front bumper and the other vehicle. The twit went to pass us both and at one point it looked like he was going to hit the rear of my truck. Of course I could not see the driver but I suspect I have seen him do this before. There is a guy driving a work truck that I have seen do this for years. I never can quite make up the name of the company he works for, but when I do, they are getting a phone call. The truck today went on the same route as the work truck...

Having to deal with these drive fools is bad enough when I am in a truck, no way am I dealing with them while on a motorcycle.

Later,
Dan
