What would happen if you just ignore the sign ...

I mean, if you're not actually breaking any law, would it matter if you ignore the sign & not bother calling them?

They would issue a warrant. You can't just ignore their red tag notice and hope the problem goes away. That would be rather foolish I think.

ditto that for sure. it's a civil infraction not unlike a traffic ticket. ignoring it would have significant penalties...

Either the general public are pure 100% MORONS or someone is out to get me in my community and keeps reporting me.

Unfortunately, it seems that the vast majority of the general public isn't firing on all cylinders, or at least that has been my experience. People can be downright stupid sometimes. I can forgive ignorance but there is only one cure for stupidity.

Die hard animal lovers can be some of the worst, ranging from just plain folks who care, to downright wackos. Unless someone is out to get you, this could be the source of your problem.

yep.. some moron/good meaning citizen who thinks a fat old horse with a surgically removed eye is starving.. and needs help.. yet won't talk to the owner.. :(

back in the old days if you had a neighbor that was down on their luck and couldn't afford some feed or something.. you just asked them if you could give them some hay or feed or help them.

nowadays.. people just call the law on bad guesses...

In my opinion it is incredibly stupid and wasteful that they even permit, much less believe, anonymous complaints. Such should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY just out of common sense.

If those who are making false statements don't have the guts to back up their accusations then any and all anonymous complaints should be ignored.

I would contact an attorney and see what your rights are in this matter. If the accuser won't identify themselves, then it seems to me thats there is no basis for a claim or complaint. Just hear say. I guarantee you the phone records may reflect it. For you to miss work at the whim of some pain in the ***** neighbor is nonsense. I'm sick of these people and officers hiding behind agencies. This is the kind of shiit that went on in Germany during WW2 and the Gestapo showed up arresting and killing people.

If things don't change, America could very well end up the same way, all in the name of "Homeland Security".

This certainly warrants a letter to whatever powers can change it ... the red sign that is ... Isn't that basically slander or libel or defamation??

That part is surely ridiculous as hell.

Thats what I thought when I 1st read SG's post, Placing a "violation" tag in the public eye, when in fact there has been no investigation and or confirmed violation, seems to be a violation in itself.

A note on the door/gate to contact animal control is one thing, to place the violation sign seems inflammatory at the least. Someone drives by and would assume there has in fact been a serious violation and whomever lives there is an animal abuser, that would be my beef.

Of course, if SG was a pro football player, like a Quarterback:D the repercussions would be short lived though.

two things in our society will have you convicted before any facts are even considered
Kill some one: alleged murder
Rob a bank or store or someone: alleged suspect
do anything and it is alleged even when on camera
two exceptions: molestation of a child or animal cruelty: you are guilty before any real facts given.
A student gets mad a teacher, all they have to do is say the teacher touched them. Teacher is ruined for life even after it is proven that the student lied. No punishment for the student. "They are just a Child'

yep.. in a 'innocent until proven guilty society'.. it's odfd to see a sign that says 'YOU ARE IN VIOLATION' when in fact.. the officer had not had a chance to inspect the animals up close.. end result was no violation.. yet I still get the red tag.. :(
