it is amazing to me that the entire world is exaggerating and lying about what is going on except for the gas industry. what other industry sought for and got exemption from the EPA. Why are Pennsylvania inspectors forbidden to stop work without approval from the Harrisburg. We that are living in the area are told that we do not know what is going on while people being paid by the industry know all. What is in the fracking fluid that they are hiding and why do they misrepresent ( not lying mind you) about the amount of the mystery chemicals present.
Each company probbaly has their own recipe and they would prefer that the other companies not know what it is. Many states (NY and WY are two that I know of) require that the companies tell the department that regulates them what is in the mix, but they can request that it not be shared due to trade secrets.
Last year we had a meeting at the fire hall with reps from the gas industry PA state police and the DCNR. The arguments from those on this forum that support the fracking are almost word for word what the spokesmen from the gas industry at the meeting said. Odd to me
Are you accusing the posters on this thread of being paid off by the gas companies? Perhaps this happens because many on here think logically, have researched the subject and have come to similar conclusions as to what the truth is.
I personally dont work for any gas company. In fact, I have relatives that do QA (supplier procedural audits) for the Nuclear Power Industry.
The highlight of the meeting was after we were told that the drivers always obeyed the speed limit and were courteous drivers. As we were leaving one came by, hauling A**. The troopers pulled him over while we were all cheering.
Personally, if we were having issues with trucks from ANY company causing problems like you describe, I would do 4 things:
1. Get a dash camera like I posted the link to earlier
2. Get the number of the dispatch office, the how's my driving number, or whoever is in charge of the truckers) and set it as a speed dial in my phone (if worried about retaliation, pay cash for a prepaid phone and use that)
3. When I saw a truck driver misbehaving, I would note the time, date, plate number and location, the call the number from step 2 with that information
4. If I didn't see improvement, I would send my state representative and a local news station the list of the incidents informing them that I have video to back them up.
I would be surprised if the higher ups approve of the truck drivers running people off of the road, but the truck drivers are probbaly compensated by the mile driven or the tonnage hauled, so they are going as fast as they can.
The drivers probbaly also get chewed out/fined if there are enough complaints about their driving, so if people report the issues that they see, the truckers WILL slow down and be more careful.
If they have a similar meeting again, you can bring your event log and say, I have complained about truck x 5 times, but they are still running people off of the road. Here are the videos of the incidents.
As the old saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
