fear of rodents? Pole shed of in the shed?

Tried moth balls and drier sheets in the combine cab - they used the moth ball box cardboard to chew up and make a nest out of, as well as one drier sheet. Maybe just Minnesota mice are tougher?

I'd think mice woul prefer the enclosed shed, they will find in, less to bother them in there than out in the open.

Probably depends on your location and climate & such.

The 6-20 cats we typically have sure help, but they seem to leave a few mice go for a breeding herd so there will always be more to hunt....

My rule on equipment sheds; Close it in and they [critters] will come.

I can always tell if someone uses poison from the smell of dead rodent on their property... If you think there's a chance they'll get into your house before they die, then I'd advise against it.

My advice would be to look at craigslist in your area or something similar, and give a couple of kitties a home.

Google Critter Out. So far I think the stuff works. I have a mobile home I rent out. Where the water pipes come out of the ground I built a box with a light bulb to keep the pipes from freezing. I have one of those paddle wheel traps in there and I also sprayed with Critter Out. Last time I checked the trap only one mouse. Generally there are 5-6 dead ones in there.

Rodent poison from Tractor Supply. Buy the expensive stuff. It comes in bars.

This stuff works great. I had a bad problem in one of my sheds with mice/rats. These things would send a cat running for cover. The bars have holes in them and can be secured with a 16p nail so they can't be carried off. I went thru about 10 bars a night for almost a week. After about a week of that it stunk so bad from all the dead rats and mice it was hard to get around the shed. After the smell died down everything was good to go. After the first kill I just put a few bars out every now and then and have had no more trouble. :D
