Syria is whacked out, I posted that link but I'm not sure why. I think because of the fact that there is no right of the people to bear arms. But my own opinion of the situation has changed, after learning a bit of news today.
There is much speculation as to what is happening there.
The outward appearance is that the government is attacking it's people with Military force, including tanks, artillery and war ships shelling a civilian population. It's not just an appearance that is happening.
The question is who is the intended target, the government says they are terrorist insurgents. UN is not sure what to do except tell the government to stop, same with the US administration.
Russia and China say full steam ahead. The Arab league is calling for a ceasefire and now Al-Qaida leadership, al-Zawahri is calling for his people to support the overthrow of the Syrian Government. Not only that but encouraging those in neighboring countries to get actively involved. It is suspected that Al-Qaida is already operating in Syria.
Which puts the whole free western world in a real quandary, not that we haven't been in one since this whole Arab uprising thing started. There are very thin/ clouded lines of alliance in that region.
Which side do we take????
It's not as much political, as it it is that other banned topic, the R word.
Anyone who thinks it doesn't involve us so we should stay out, better get your head out of your behind, Oh yeah, Lebanon is in just about the same situation, just hasn't surfaced yet.
So again, which side do we take??? It's a tough one That I'm sure our top Government officials are trying to avoid coming out officially, too strong one way or another. They really can't, either support shelling a civilian population or team up with a terrorist organization, which happens to be our greatest enemy, to stop it.
It's a Lose-Lose situation.
