Syria is whacked out, I posted that link but I'm not sure why. I think because of the fact that there is no right of the people to bear arms. But my own opinion of the situation has changed, after learning a bit of news today.
There is much speculation as to what is happening there.
The outward appearance is that the government is attacking it's people with Military force, including tanks, artillery and war ships shelling a civilian population. It's not just an appearance that is happening.

The question is who is the intended target, the government says they are terrorist insurgents. UN is not sure what to do except tell the government to stop, same with the US administration.

Russia and China say full steam ahead. The Arab league is calling for a ceasefire and now Al-Qaida leadership, al-Zawahri is calling for his people to support the overthrow of the Syrian Government. Not only that but encouraging those in neighboring countries to get actively involved. It is suspected that Al-Qaida is already operating in Syria.

Which puts the whole free western world in a real quandary, not that we haven't been in one since this whole Arab uprising thing started. There are very thin/ clouded lines of alliance in that region.

Which side do we take????

It's not as much political, as it it is that other banned topic, the R word.

Anyone who thinks it doesn't involve us so we should stay out, better get your head out of your behind, Oh yeah, Lebanon is in just about the same situation, just hasn't surfaced yet.

So again, which side do we take??? It's a tough one That I'm sure our top Government officials are trying to avoid coming out officially, too strong one way or another. They really can't, either support shelling a civilian population or team up with a terrorist organization, which happens to be our greatest enemy, to stop it.

It's a Lose-Lose situation.

Well.... there have been less than oblique unfounded, off hand, inflammatory political references made in this thread propagating an "us vs them" mentality that I abhor:

"Obama and Erik Holder and Holder is nothing more than a thinly disguised insurgent himself"

"Or, the Diane Feinsteins, Carolyn McCarthys, Charles Schumers, Barack Obamas of the country will win. Those people may start with my guns, but they won't stop until they have your guns"

I could not let those allegations stand without seeking to call them out and exhort folks to base comments and decisions on fact and actions rather than rhetoric.

History does not predict the future, but it's a good indicator.

I'm just sick of reading unexamined allegations that all worries of large government spending and loss of freedoms are the result of Democratic incumbents without acknowledging that actions by prior Republican administrations created the present pickles we face.

JB, I think there is a third option.... let Syria figure out things itself...we've
seen, too often, the result of the US getting deeply involved where we should have not gone. Nevertheless, I think that the US can and should continue to use drones and special forces to exercise surgical strikes anywhere in the world. US blood and treasure are best preserved with this approach. It is sad that so many are being killed there now. But history teaches us that when we get DEEPLY involved we find ways to kill lots of the population anyway. Sometimes, as in the example seen at Goliad, a government can do idiotic things. We must learn that sometimes the best thing to do is to just live with the consequences of a minimal response.

(Bolded text is from one of my earlier posts)
Those persons I bolded have a long standing agenda of gun control and banning. These are facts, not supposition. They have all promolgated total bans of handguns...each and everyone of them.
I suggest you read (use Google) a bit of their history before you bandy about "allegations". There is a lot of history on these gun banners and anti-rights persons such as those listed above.
Now, it's not like they know what they're talking about. Here's a video displaying Carolyn McCarthy's ignorance of what she's trying to ban:

I'll expect an apology from you after you do your review...I'm calling you out...

I really enjoy my XDM9. Since I reload I have purposely kept as many handguns as possible to 9MM. Replaced my barrel on 1st Gen Glock to allow me to put my hard cast lead bullets downrange with the Glock.

The easily concealled LCP is expensive to shoot and a box-1/2 of rounds in a range setting is more than I can usually take.

This thread sure has its twists and turns. While the ballot box puts us on the soap box the truth is time and bb guns are the biggest contribution we can make.

I bought KKM barrels so I can shoot cast in my Glocks, long term they pay for themselves, several other brands are available.

I like the LCP and Kel-Tek, but opted for a snub .38 for carrying around.
