Kubota RTV 500
I've had my RTV 500 for 2 years now but just found this site. There is really good info about the 500 along with other s x s.

Well, it's nothing like the RTV 1100's cab, but it keeps me warmer in the winter. Plexiglass for the windows (should've used glass, but the friends shop I was building it at had some leftovers for free) and a metal frame. The inside is relatively unchanged, just added a little heater. The doors do come off for the summer time, or it would become extremely hot.

Very nice cab. That's a big windshield. I don't know why you would need glass? Unless you plan on putting on a wiper which shouldn't be needed.

I've used it quite a bit through the woods and the plexiglass has seen some good scratches, I guess I higher quality plexiglass would do just as well, but not as nice as real glass.

Nice job on the cab...

Thanks Tim, we can trade if you like, I'd have no problem with that RTV's cab!:licking:

All you're missing is A/C...Now that would be a marvel to create:D

Just kidding, That cab looks like a production model, I'm impressed with the workmanship...

You're right about plexi vs glass...I had a similar issue with my 500 and went with OEM glass,.

A/C. Yea. Not happening. I originally planned to take the cab completely off and put the ROPS back on during the summer (only like 4 bolts), but I had it laying behind the shop that I built it at and the dumpster divers took it to the dump. Which was very angering. So I have to just take the doors off. When I first got it I tried to keep the doors on and after about a half hour in 80F heat driving through the woods I about passed out, figured it would be a good thing to get some circulation:laughing:

I did have a little help with the production, although I did some of it, it was built at a shop with machines worth thousands each. It made the project considerably easier when your using machines that make parts and tools for GM, Ford, and Chrysler.
