TripleR, if you are looking at the small Kahr, you may want to look at the Walther PPS. It can be had in 9mm or .40. Same size as the Kahr but a bit slimmer.

I have the 9mm and am very happy with it.

Yeah, it was...I never considered Glocks to be super accurate, but the gun and the gent sure did pretty darn good!

BTW, at my age (62) and with my eyesight...I doubt if I could ever do that good with open sights...

The XDM isn't even made by Springfield, let alone in America, it's made in Croatia.

Very interesting!... I assumed it was made by Springfield since their name is all over it. Obviously I can only speak for myself. I've owned Glocks, and the XDM just feels and shoots better for me. I guess durability will only be proven with time.

Don't feel bad...there are a number of imported guns coming in...some are captive imports (such as all the Charles Daly guns)

Kel Tecs are great for the price, compact and very slim making them great for pocket carry, not the best looking guns ever made but will get the job done on demand and thats what really counts. I also love the small sigs they are easy to hide on the hip and a very good looking gun, reliability is never much of an issue cause ... well, its a SIG!... But if you want to truely fall in love with a carry weapon that your wife could shoot aswell, take a look at the "Springfield Armory EMP" its a 1911 style micro pistol chambered in 9mm. At about half the size of your 92 its very concealable, in short I think the EMP has it all when it comes to a carry weapon, unfortunately it also has the price tag to go along with it, about $1200, not cheap but wow I wouldnt trade mine for the any of my other pistols

I have tried and cannot get my wife interested in anything besides her Glocks or J-Frame and can't even get her to carry anything other than a little .22 mini revolver.

My wife fired one shot with one of my .38s when we were dating 48 years ago. That's the only time she ever shot a gun.:laughing: She wants me to carry one, but she has no interest in handling one herself.

Just to stir the pot a little... I challenge all of you Glock lovers to handle and shoot Springfield's XDM's. Granted the Glock is time tested, and very dependable, but I believe the XDM to be every bit as good, and it just feels and shoots better for me. I also understand that "feel' is different from person to person.

Okay, I do have the Xd-40 Springfield Tactical model...12 rd.s and deadly accurate. It would be a challenge to find a better operating pistol, and it was made in Croatia....I do like the way it shoots, it is just a touch heavy , when in the holster, with the extra loaded piggyback mag? My 2 cents..

Interesting, when I retired, MO did not recognize my State Parole Officer firearms certification as meeting the CCW requirements even though it was more stringent than many Police Departments, so I had to go through a civilian certification class. .

weird. here in florida they will take almost anything... past military exp, hunter safety course.. etc.. etc..

Not really weird...PA, as long as you don't have a record, you get the permit. Other states require some type of training.
