The fourth shot appears to indicate bands around his/her legs. Is that possible?

Beautiful creature...thanks for sharing.

We have them in my area, and I love seeing them, but people around here sometimes have the opposite reaction -- many prospective land buyers get worried. If the eagles establish a new nesting site, it can really cramp construction schedules, or even shut a job down. I think there is a 600 foot "no construction" radius around nesting sites at certain times of the year.

You're right it's 660' (1/8th mile). Well I say you're right but I'm not sure about the "no-construction" part. Could very well be, I'm just not familiar with that. I do know of DGIF recommending 660' buffers from nests.

Thanks everybody! Glad everyone is enjoying them as much as I am.

Yes the one pic does show that she is banded. That's why I think it's our local nesting female.

Our east property line is a river that sees a lot of eagle activity. We feel so blessed to watch them as they have come back more and more over the years. Very cool to see them catch fish. The river here has areas of open water all winter, so they are around all year. A growing number of young and adults. I'm not a great photog, but I'd like to share a few I've taken this week. Adult and immature, adult, immature, and a flight photo from the back this time.
