Why did the post from the dealer showing the MSRP prices for the Max series just vanish?

Unless a dealer pays to be an advertiser on this site, he can't solicit a sale. He can offer assistance as most of us do, but he can't offer to sell something.

It's a good rule and keeps the forum from being one big dealer advertisement site. So the previous poster was fine in listing the MSRP, but not in asking for a sale. That is my guess.

Thanks for the clarification Dave. Yes I meant to just post the MSRP for the tractor and for the loader. It sounded like Steve was not getting a good response from the dealers he contacted. And yes you need to add those two prices together for the tractor and the loader, but as Dave said nobody sells at MSRP so don't let that scare you. Just keep calling dealers until you get someone who will give you the customer service you deserve on such a major purchase. I guess I didn't understand the rules to well, as I am new to the sight...sorry tractorbynet eye in the sky!

Unfortunately it seems to be very common.

When I went tractor shopping a few years ago, getting dealers to respond to email inquiries was next to impossible and they never seemed to have the tractors I wanted to see in stock. Come to think of it, I recall that a number of phone inquiries were also met with resistance because they wanted me to "visit the dealership" before they could/would quote a price, probably so they could "sell me".

I got about the same treatment from the JD dealer just 6 miles from my house. They didn't take me serious, until I started buying parts for the old, wore out JD rotary cutter that came with the used tractor I bought. I had known my Mahindra dealer (10 miles away)for years before I bought, as I bought my ZTM and Stihl chainsaw from them, along with numerous parts to rebuild a wore out Snapper riding mower. It really pays big dividends to have the dealer at least remember your face as a serious customer.

This same (my) Mahindra dealer did not return my calls when I had a question on my Mahindra purchase..................they were too busy. If I wanted to talk to him, I had to drive over to see him. These same guys let me borrow their fork lift when I stop by to pick up used fork lift pallets.
hugs, Brandi

Thanks Kurt, and welcome to TBN! It's a great site, partly because it is so well moderated. Seems that dealers are very welcome here as long as we contribute with technical issues and such and not just try to sell product. Where are you located?

Got the info I needed. Now I just need to have a look at stuff, wherever and whenever I can find it. I'm just glad I didn't break down some old tractor on a job somewhere and need a new one quick!
Thanks, Dave and all!
