Hi everyone! I am wondering what resources out there to do 'price discovery'. I have been to tractorhouse.com and ironsearch. Are there other online sites recommended? What about a service? Are there services like Edmunds or the like that anyone would recommend? Are they worth it?

I am looking at a JD 4320 (no cab $29,9 75 hrs) and a 3520 ($23,9 300 hrs with a 447 backhoe), they seem high compared to Tractorhouse but the Spokane WA area always seems high compared to the midwest and east. Prices kinda sticky up here???

Thanks in advance.

Another good thing to look at is auctions, both local and services like eBay, to see what people are really willing to pay for things.

Both of those prices are relatively high, not to bad, especially with the BH, but there should definitely be some room to come down.

Good luck!

I didn't have too much luck with dealer's in the western part of Washington state. Dealer's along the east side were alot more competitive!

I use Used Farm & Agricultural Equipment - John Deere MachineFinder quite often, too. I tend to focus on JD equipment; so, machinefinder helps to track the JD stuff a little better than the others.

If you are looking at "services" such as books, there are many on the market. A few of the more common are Intertec "Used Tractor Price Guide" the Mike Hall's "Tractor Blue Book" and Hotline's "Farm Equipment Guides" which are now in CD form for some of their books. Some are available from Amazon. The Hotline ones I have only been able to order through their website. Hope to purchase a new copy of theirs this year. The one I have is the 2002 guide. On the tractorhouse site, be sure to search for tractors sold at auction instead of just looking at the asking prices all the time.

Very good advice. I also use the prior auction results from richie brothers auctions - both ag equipment and construction equip.
