Best reply yet!- I would be concerned too about the water freezing.

Hopefully he parked it in a heated garage.

Paul

I appreciate your concern, but I'm in south MS. Freezing shouldn't be a problem.

Still waiting for the dreaded call from the shop.:(

Your correct on the weather. We just haven't had that much cold this year. I am about 30 miles north of you. Who is your mechanic on this? Closest Kioti dealer I know if is Watts Bros in Columbia,MS.

You said it wouldn't start again, but didn't mention if the engine turns over on the starter. If it spins over ok then there's no lock-up. Check the oil in the engine. I think I would crack the drain plug and take a look there to see if any water comes out. If oil is just black, and no water present, no worries there. Maybe then look at fuel filter and see if water got in somehow while it was running. That would sure cause it to not fire up if water got in the injectors and pump. The front axle will need to be drained and flushed. You can do that with some Diesel and a bit of motor oil, run it around a bit in the field and drain it a couple times. When clean, fill back with the normal stuff. I think you can do all this, IF, the engine turns free. Water in those injectors would prompt me to take the machine in to the dealer.

Ha. I think my grandson took some pictures with his phone. I didn't think about it, and was in no mood to take pictures. I was cold, wet, and tired. I had my two grandsons with me. We got the golf cart stuck first, and had to walk out to get the tractor. When we got the tractor stuck, we had to walk out to get my truck, which we promptly got stuck. I ended up using a come along for a couple of hours until my son arrived with his truck. We finally got everything unstuck, but the tractor and golf cart are deceased. We had three generations spending "quality time" together, but that's the only good part about it. I hate to see what the final bill will be. Hopefully none of us will develop pnemonia.

Thanks again to all for your advice.

Jack:thumbsup:

This storey will go down in family history,Hope it turns out for you.

Yep, it's at Watts Brothers. They love to see me coming. Usually the repairs are the result of my treating my little Kioti like a bulldozer.

It's in the shop now, but when we briefly turned the key, the sound could best be described as similar to a metal trash can full of ball bearings being thrown down a flight of stairs! I don't expect good news when the mechanic calls.

That doesn't sound good.
If the water was up over the front tires and exaust it was getting dangerously close to the air intake.
Not good if the engine sucked in water while it was running that shut it down.
Trying to start a hydrolocked motor can sometimes do severe damage also.

UPDATE: The golf cart motor was burned-up. New motor and labor, $400.

The tractor's rods were bent, and the pistons were broken or cracked. The parts are ordered, and the charge is estimated to be $3000.

Maybe, one day I'll learn not to take my equipment where it shouldn't go. I know I'll stay away from water from now on.:(

Thanks to all, for your interest.

Jack
