Ford 4630 dual power

I have a ford 4630 dual that loses drive in both ranges after a few minutes running, has had new trans seals and trans pump

i would guess that either the filter in the dual power is plugging up it is inside the pressure line or the clutch plates or gone and time for a major overhaul

Thanks for the reply, we have fitted a new pump and seals,clutch packs and seals are all perfect. This tractor is fitted with the 30 series dual power unit (made by Kubota for Ford) this is a different unit from the earlier 6y,7A and 10 series tractors. It is also differrent to the 40 series tractors. I have heard of this problem on 2 other occasions but to date havent heard of a remedy.

is it electricly control or a hand lever if electric i would check the soleniod becuase how it sounds is you are ethier losing oil pressure or the clutches is slipping it one of the two

Yes we are losing pressure to both clutches, we have test guages in place and have fitted a new solenoid valve. power = one clutch pressurised, power off = the other clutch pressurised. We have bench tested the complete assembly and all is good. But cannot test run the pump on the bench. However it is a new pump.

does it have a filter on it and if so have you checked it

+1. An oversight as simple as a missng woodruff key will render a nice, new pump completely ineffective.
