you guys are right. i just may occupy myself this weekend by taking it apart to give it its first true tune and clean. It smokes like **** though for some reason and has for the past 10 years.

That's what it is waiting for, some of your money. Put $30 into it along with some blood, sweat and cussing and it will drop a rod just to show you who is running the show.

thats what i was thinking. i was thinking of shooting it with my desert eagle while its running and putting on video to post here. Just dont know if i would feel to good about that becuase it has been with me since brand new. would almost feel bad like putting down the dog in the movie old yeller

Be careful shooting it. It might bounce off & hit the new tractor!

i remember growing up we had one of those "green machines".
a lawn boy 2 stroke.
i despised that mower, it never ever started easy, i remember pulling
and pulling on it for what seemed like an hour just to get it
started so i could mow!

hated it, will never forget it.

now as i look back, it was probably something stupid
like the primer bulb not working and i didn't know anything
about engines
back then so i never thought about looking into why it
started so hard.

They don't make them like that anymore! I have a late 70s Lawn Boy that my grandfather bought new way back then. It has a plastic carb and a cork float. I love that little bugger. It start's easy and purrs like a kitten.

My FIL had one, it was very old, but it started on the first pull every time and ran smooth. Seemed like the deck was made of an aluminum/magnesium alloy or something. Very lightweight, and easy to push.
