Since there are no PEAS, the dumplings are sounding better.

My granny never measured anything either. Until the day she died, she loved to tell the story of when I was home alone in my late teens, and I called her to ask how she made Chicken and Dumplings. :D I had bought a chicken and I wanted me some Chicken and Dumplings. :licking::laughing: Course her instructions were to use a bit of this and and a bit of that. :D

I really miss her.

Later,
Dan

My grandmom and mom, as do I cooked/cook like that.

I miss them both, and curse them because my end result is "not quite the same".

Around here, 660 feet feet of 47 inch field fence would cost about $300. If the barbed wire fence is on T-posts, most of them can probably be re-used. Add a strand or two of the barbed wire along the top if you think it is needed.

Can you run some electric fence? Or maybe even lay some large logs at the base of the existing fence, so it will deter the fdogs from crossing? Might be the easiest way to keep the peace.

Otherwise, call animal control.

Until then, I would definitely make that call to your neighbor and have her crate the dogs if kids are visiting you.

This has got to be the funniest thread I've read here. 613 messages with some great advice and some not so great advice. The OP will do nothing. I guarentee it. I'll even bet $10,000 of Romney's money. All things that have occurred since the original post have been because of the neighbors initiating it. I'll say a pray for the kids.

You know, it just occurred to me that if beppington was Korean for example, the neighbours dogs would have "disappeared" a long time ago!

If you go to Korean restaurant do not order anything that is writen on the menu only in Korean. Unless you like to eat dogs.

I hope you're right!

I hope I go around the corner next time I'm there & find the neighbors have put up a new fence without me having had to do anything else

Short of that I will have to take more action soon. It will be finesse action, though; not heavy handed. Not yet anyway. But it will get solved.

Not that I have to prove anything to you, but I did call them for the first time this Monday - Is that not "doing something"? Hopefully that gets the ball rolling. If not, I will "do something" more.

Surely there should be some local members who'd be willing to come out and "bid on a job" while you are away. When the ****-hounds come after them they can KIA them for you. And when the butthurt neighbor wonders why his mange factories are room temperature, well, you had three different bidders and noone said anything about dogs.

Now we are "bidding" on the job?Has it really come down to that?

Well, a few of these posts appear to be almost on the verge of goading Beppington into doing something. He's the one that has these neighbors and will have to live with the consequences of whatever he chooses to do. This problem didn't happen overnight and an overnight solution may not be the best one.

A man a lot smarter than me once said you can't be efficient in dealing with people. You can only hope to be effective. Sometimes that requires an investment of time and effort.
