I'm only posting to inform people as to what is going on.........most don't have a clue what's in store for them.

I'm just a truck driver, trying to make a living. But that is becoming increasingly more difficult because this administration is bound and determined to oversee the downfall of our country.

Read Obama's book, listen to his words, watch his actions. Then you too will understand.

So tell us, do we replace Obama with an Obama wannabe like Rummy or Sanitation? or are the American people so dumbed down by the media and the hype that they assume a new/old face in the Oval Office will change anything? It won't.

There is only 1 candidate in the lot that is actually viable and he's half nuts or it appears...... Maybe it takes a nut. Not sure. I do know the media will insure that he never gets to the Oval Office.....

Goerge Soros says there is no difference between Romney and Obama. I can't say I've heard anyone but you claim that Santorum is like Obama.

The problem isn't the oil prices, it's the government skimming off a bigger % of our wealth every year. It's like a big fat guy sitting on the bow of a boat, and we're heading for some waves.

I love this thread and all the whining.

People in this country are accustomed to low fuel prices. In Europe it's been much higher for a long time now.... Be thankful.

Maybe it's time to quit romancing those big Hemi engines, gas guzzling cars and even those 'tractors' you don't really need because you want to be 'one up' on your neighbor when, in fact, a snowshovel or a push mower would actually do just fine and maybe cause you to get off the couch and loose some weight.....

I see it going to 5 bucks a gallon for regular and possibly 5.25 for diesel. Imagine filling up that Hemi pickup, the one you impress your friends with, with the dual exhaust, big tires and lift kit.....that you don't need but you have to have because it's all about being 'macho'...for a hundred bucks or more, because it's going to happen and soon....

Our company paid over 10 million last year in diesel fuel costs to run 100 trucks but we offset that cost with a fuel surcharge on the materials we hauled, that surcharge being passed right back to our customers and those customers passing it on to you.

I have one of those 'big' pickup trucks too. Difference is, I use mine only when necessary to haul something, not to impress the next door neighbor or boost my testosterone level. My normal ride gets 30 mpg, a small car and it's 4wd. Go figure....

As a consumer you have little or no control over fuel prices other than to use less, in other words, be more efficient in your usage, something thats alien to most in this country......

I'm old enough to remember when folks that owned pickup trucks were farmers and that was still the normal here in the early 70's. It was very rare to see a 4 wheel drive truck in my area and we had regular snows in the winter back then. Well I'm still working and work with folks that drive 30+ miles one way to the job in full size 4 wheel drive pickups with lift kits and larger than normal tires. May get a light snow 2 times per winter now and droughts most summers and no mud to be found. I still farm and drive my 1999 nissan 2 wd 4 cylinder to work and use it on the farm too. Not much farming here anymore so there's more 4 wd trucks in towns and cities than out in the country here.

All sorts of blame going around now. I like one I heard at my workplace from a guy that still hunts with dogs and uses pickup trucks and radios to hunt. They even have tracking devices to keep up with the dogs. This guy pays child support for one kid, has 5 more at home, feeds 16 deer hounds year round and hunts like it's a job. Well with fuel increases he had a problem paying for LP gas bill to heat his home. Never heard such fussing and cussing about fuel prices. Well to get him out of a jam his Daddy gave him a wood stove to help heat his home. He's still feeding all those dogs and everything else is the same. Never made one cut back for the love of hunting and hunting in the most expensive way. And like many others it's all Obama's fault. People resist change and they put up a heck of a fight and live in misery going in to change but they will change fighting and kicking all the way.

I remember while President Bush was in office folks blamed him for high fuel prices. He was well defended with folks saying a president has no control over fuel prices and " it's still cheaper than a gallon of milk". Now many of those same folks that shouted that defense are saying it's the presidents fault now.

Personally I've made changes to try and keep up with change. I've gone from using 400 gallons of LP gas a year to using none. I've brought my avg. power bill down from $175 per month to $122.

Folks there's a big ball rolling. Step to the side as you adjust or get run over while you kick and scream. You will change or you won't keep up. It's that simple.

I remember several times that gas station owners were charged and convicted of price gouging in my area and NC.. And I'll take issue with you on the meeting our VP back then had with the 6 oil executives that has been kept hidden from the public by executive privilege. In the days following that meeting is when fuel prices took off like a rocket. I think what happened in that meeting would answer a lot of questions.

You want lower fuel prices then break those 6 top oil companies up in to 50-60 companies and you'll have competition again in oil and gas. Until that happens nothing will change except it'll get higher. It's called price fixing and as of 2003 it's legal.

I know what's going on and what to expect for the most part. I lived in the 50's and on. We didn't waste back then because we didn't have money to waste. We raised what we needed. We didn't go to town every week or every month. We went to town 2 times a year. I never ate in a restaurant till I was 18 years old. I'd never seen or used a commode till I was in the 4th grade. Yes we had running water at school but the johnny house was in the woods. Keep the path shoveled out in the winter for when you had to go. I wore clothes with patches on them to school. I had my first slice of store bought bread in 1958.

So to add to your fear let me mention food. You think fuel is a problem? All those folks that were third world countries have money now. And BTW food is on the world market now too. Won't be long you'll be on here blaming someone for the high price of food. Iran just bought a large shipment of wheat from us. Yes the USA just sold wheat to Iran. Everything we have is for sale to the highest bidder. How much are you willing to pay? Or should you start preparing? You might want to buy some steaks while they're still cheap. After ethanol was mandated beef inventories in the US fell to 1952 levels. So soon you can cry your way to the grocery store about what it cost in fuel to get there and cry your way back home about what you just spent for that food. You might want to take some of the time you use on those links and use it running a garden tiller and get ready for canning season. The links you post may be right or may not be right. What I just told you is already here. Dig in man. When something worries me I do something about it.
