Carl, After we bought our place out here we called it the Ranchito, as I knew as a Texan, it was no where big enough to be called a Ranch. But it was ours and we loved it. We to were coming out every week-end and soon Ranchito got shortened to "Chito". Friends would ask "Are you going to the Chito this week-end?" Now that were here full time it's just called home. Hope that day comes soon for you.

Carl, you have enough Mesquite there to smoke half the beef in Texas. Wow! I suspect we'll be seeing a post soon about your filling your tires with foam. Mesquite is brutal on tires as I'm sure you know.
I think the English translation of Ranchito is Ranchette. That's what the Texas Veteran's Land Board uses to describe a small ranch.
BTW: To show my age, the old Carpenter Ranch off Beltline in Irving, Tx used to be just like your place. It was solid mesquite and little else. Now it's Las Colinas.:shocked: I'm not sure that's such an improvement.

Yep, I have already had both fronts flat. I put slime in them and so far (knock on wood) they hold air.....mostly. As far as the ranchette I just can't....well I like ranchito better.
So, this morning I'll be headed to the coop to get the power turned on, thank goodness. My gen set has been going through LPG like crazy, I have 3 20 lb and 2 40 lb tanks to fill today as well. A trip to Mc Coys for a culvert and a call to the gravel cowboy. Then the work starts.

Oh yes, ranchito is my preference too. I was just thinking of a single word that had the same meaning in English. Kinda like frijoles refritos sounds a lot better than refried beans.
Dang wind, more trash is blowing out than is making it into the dumpster. So I moved on to the mesquite tops I cut the other day. It looks like the wind is going to blow all day, so it looks like mesquite and dirt work.
