Anyone ever change tires on one of these? I have an 88A and the only way I see to get the tires off is to beat on a pin that goes through the axel and the engaging mechanism. Am I correct or is there a trick I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

The cross-bolt on mine is what holds the wheel hub onto the shaft. On mine this is a shear-bolt and it slips out pretty easy. Just tap it out with a hammmer.

I have some pics on my other computer at home....but I wont be home for a few days. I think if you do a search for EZ Flow....I have posted the pics for the hub assembly before.

I have some pics. The first one is the pin that seems to me should come out with a punch and hammer and free the wheel? I took a few other pics if this is the wrong approach. Maybe they could be helpful. I just don't see the point in completely disassembling this thing when really all it needs is some tires to work. Paint would be nice, but I need lime down now.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately what you have is foreign to me. Ken Sweet (a TBN advertizer) has sold a number of these spreaders. I think you should send him a PM and direct him to your post. He may have some words of wisdom for you.

It appears that you have a really nice spreader.....I sure hope you can get it operational.

Just to show the "other" style of EZ Flow - which does not have the disconnecting hubs. Heres my pics.....I wish I had others with better details.

FWIW on mine.....There is a large brass(?) bushing (about 1 1/2" diameter x 2" long) that inserts from the outside end. Then a 1/2" diameter cross-bolt goes though the wheel hub and this brass bushing and the agitator to hold all in place.

Thanks for the info. I'm out of town fishing at the moment, but when I get back I plan to figure this thing out. I bent a 5/16 punch the other day trying to get the pins out. Next option is a torch.

Well, new tires are installed and I'm ready to put down some lime. A torch on the axle allowed one pin to come right out. The other one, I drilled the pin out and then was able to punch it out. The hubs were held in by dow rods as far as I can tell, see pics. I was able to order replacements from mcmaster, I decided to use spring pins instead (should be easier incase of a flat). I did order the dowel pins just in case the springs pins wouldn't hold up. 7/16" 2" long if anyone else ends up getting the model I found. Next weekend I'll give it a try. It shouldn't take too long to lime 10 acres  Thanks for all the input.
