LS S3010 Grill Guard mod. Hood will miss the guard now. I have the hood propped up to show the gap. The fel will miss too! KelleyB

I can't tell how you did this mod from the picture. I'm guessing spacers (washers?) with longer mounting bolts to move it out enough for the hood to clear.

Great mods and info thanks, I agree a simple mod can make things much easier. I'm going to change my 4wheel shift lever so it is easier to reach, my back just can't handle bending over to grab it.

I can't tell how you did this mod from the picture. I'm guessing spacers (washers?) with longer mounting bolts to move it out enough for the hood to clear.

I first tightened the bottom bolt just enough to make it snug. I then pulled the upper guard forward just so the hood would clear 5/8". I then clamped the upper and lower guards together near the pin hole. On the bottom guard, though the pin hole, I drilled a 1/2" hole same as the pin into the top guard. 1/2"x1 1/2" bolts hold it in place. I just started the holes on the tractor and then removed the upper guard to finish the hole, this gave me exact location. I thought about relocating the pin hole but this was the easy way.
Tools needed Drill, 1/2" drill bit, 2 clamps.
Parts 1/2"x1 1/2" bolts and two 1/2" lock nuts.
